In Romantic literature, we are studying the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley. A proclaimed atheist who died at age 29, this man's life was stock-full of tragedy and sorrow. How then did he write some of the most beautiful literature I have ever read? I am reading his prose "A Defence of Poetry" right now and it is stinking brilliant. One of my favorite lines is: " Poetry lifts the veil from the hidden beauty of the world, and makes familiar objects be as if they were not familiar." I wonder how this man can be an atheist. As Christians, sometimes we pride ourselves on being able to see more beauty in things than those "of the world." We look at the falling leaves and are reminded of God's design. We feel the wind and think of being in His presence. But, newsflash, I guess we aren't the only ones experiencing beauty. I am a romantic soul, and reading Shelley is like Mylanta on an upset stomach. He soothes me. I wonder how Shelley would have written if he would have ever given his life to Christ. Would he be as talented a writer?

Cool how I haven't written on xanga in 4 months, and I choose to write about educational things. Well, I guess that is better than my normal ramblings about the leftovers in my refridgerator. I know I didn't spell that correctly. It's ok.

Remember when Homecoming was a beating on my life? I am finally done with all of my assignments, tests and papers for this week. Now I can concentrate on the float! Yay! I think it is going to look really good, plus working w/ all of those lovely girls will be much fun!!! Rick is also coming this weekend. Mucho excitement! He gets to be my escort tomorrow. Hopefully we won't disgrace the homecoming court by falling down or knocking over this huge bush that is by my chair. lol...have a great weekend!

So I think there is a plot to keep me from going to my Marriage class. I went yesterday to find out it was actually a Monday Thursday class. Then I check my e-mail today and find that the air is out so we aren't having class. Dude...I am really wanting to go to this class! Is that bad? Geez! This class will be my relief on Mondays and Thursdays. Now this means that I have to use this time today and do my homework. Sick! Ok I am finished. Have a good one.
