Do you ever see the kids get on the bus for the first day of school and have flashbacks?  I did this year.  But here's the strangest thing.  The girls ride the bus to school where I work.  And although they tell me that I look like I'm still in high school, they would be embarassed if I walked them to the bus stop.  WEIRD!  It's like I've gone into warp drive and become the parent of a teen... but not really... because I still get to come home to peace and quiet at the end of the day.

Work is going really well.  I love my job, which I'm going down to part time with so I won't die when I start the MA in counseling program next Tuesday.  I love the girls.  I hate seeing how their families continually break their hearts.  But what bothers me more than anything is knowing that I possess the words of life in my heart and soul... that they need to accept those words... that they need the love and forgiveness of Jesus more than anything, and they continue to reject him as a fable.  I can see why they do.  Their lives haven't been easy... but man is it ever frustrating to watch.

Lance and I, and about 6 other adults just took the third-fifth graders from our church camping last weekend.  It was incredibly fun!!!  We went bike riding and swimming and played wiffle ball... roasted hot gooey marshmellows and played flashlight tag in the dark.  I love the simplicity of camping, and of that age.

While I'm finishing up my last week of full time work, Lance has already ended his jobs for the summer and is being an awesome handy man at home... fixing all the things we haven't gotten to over the summer.  What a guy!

Yesterday Lance and I had to run some errands at the bank, so we decided it'd be nice to bike over to the next town and back for some exercise.  Oh, and did I mention that all together it was about 16 miles?!  It was a lot of fun... but even more funny because we barely made it back!!!  What happened to the days of being able to ride around all day on a bike?  Sigh... ;)

It was great to hang out with you on Saturday. I realized that I took the directions with me. Sorry about that. I hope you got back to Milford (is that the town, or is that the town in this book series we sell. I just got confused). It was great to talk with you though!

(Thank you!)
