So after living in HH i thought that this town is pretty calm, relaxing, and full of old retired white couples.  Imagine my surprise yesterday when I was at the self serve car wash hosing the yellow paint, also known as pollen, off my car and this black guy strolls up to me.

Black guy:
"yo mang, check this out" opens up a suede case with blinging gold bracelet.  "i'll sell u this for 20 bucks"

Me:
"WTF, no sorry not interested"

I seriously thought I was going to get jumped in broad daylight.  As if that wasn't bad enough, another guy comes up 5 mins later and offers me some earrings instead. alright.....

Well, I did something this weekend that I can honestly say that none of my friends have done.  What did I do??? I played some basketball... but not only did I play a pick up game at the rec center, I played against this guy .  Ohh snap I played against a former NBA All-Star.

Unfortunately I didn't have a camera with me, but I can assure u that it was definitely him.  How many 6'10" black guys roll up in a white rolls royce and not a professional athlete?  Either way I got plenty tooled on, dunked on, and was lucky to even foul him.  Granted he did shoot someone so I didn't want to make him look bad by taking the rock to the hoop... cuz i didn't know if he would have a shotgun in his trunk or something.

Either way, this is as close to my dream of playing in the NBA as I will ever come so humor me...

Happy 2006 everyone... hope 2006 treats everyone even better than 2005.

No New Years resolution for me, the way I figure it, its never too late or too early to improve your self physically and mentally.  That being said, I really need to cut down on my sodium intake so I don't die from headaches this year.  Eh.. I could do without beef jerky during my 4 hr drive home from Hilton Head to Atl.

2005 was definitely a crazy year with a lot of ups and downs.  I graduated from GA Tech which is a great feeling.  Started working in May with basically with 2 weeks worth of break between school and work.  Since I feel cheated out of a decent break, I'm going to take a month or two off doing nothing but bumming and traveling after my current project/job finishes in the fall.

Work is definitely a huge change from school and I've come to the conclusion that I'm still not ready to live the life of a working man.... I'm going back to school hopefully next yr for my Masters in EE.  Unless of course I get some ridiculous job in Cali.. then I'll reconsider.

I had a blast during the Christmas/New Years holiday.  A group of friends, actually more like a mob of 14 ppl, went to VA to snowboard.  College kids being college kids, we all crammed into Jimmy's one bedroom apt in Richmond.  Even tho it was cramped, I wouldn't have had it any other way.  It was a great reminder of the college days that I temporarily left behind.

Ever since I started working, I really missed the all of the friends that I have surrounded myself with throughout college.  I'm also extremely thankful that my high school friends still take the time to hang out whenever they're in town, almost as if nothing as changed.  Which is why i'm going to visit more ppl this year.  Therefore if u got a place to stay for me... I will come visit.  Of course me visiting you guys does not mean you cannot visit me.. my place is always open.

Sorry for the lack of updates... here is an entry that i wrote a while ago but internet problems caused me to forget to post it... here it is and hope everyone's doing well .

----------------------------

Well its a Sunday and I don't have any homework or projects or tests to worry about since I am working now in Hilton Head, South Carolina.  All I worry about nowadays is whether I can wake up for work and what am I going to eat.

This will be my first entry in a while so be prepared.

Well last weekend Irene came to visit me.  It was a lot of fun because I could actually take her to places since I had to show my parents and Lynn (she's got some pics on her site) the weekend before.

Irene got here Friday night and I was excited.  I couldn't wait to get off of work.  When she got here... we went out to eat since we were both pretty hungry.

We looked around and finally came across this place called the Santa Fe Cafe.  They had southwestern food which I thought was pretty good.  According to the waiter, we got the first and second most popular dishes in the restaurant.

My dish, pork tenderloin...

"

vs. Irene's dish, the grouper...

I must say...my dish looks better... but Irene's tasted better.  She wouldn't even let me have the leftovers the next day .

After dinner we went out to the movie theater to watch War of the Worlds.  Was a decent movie... a dvd rental type of movie.  The movie theaters here are pretty crappy.... i miss the stadium seating back at the Regal in Norcross.

The next day, rain was everywhere.  We wanted to go to the beach but we had to wait because of the rain.  So we went out to the Tanger Outlets by my apartment and shopped around.  There were also little marinas everywhere with shops and restaurants.  We went to one and got some fudge.

Mmmmmm.. enough sugar for a lifetime...

Then we went to the beach to take a stroll by the beach.

At night... we went to Hudson's to eat, Hudson's was featured on $40 a Day.  You hardcore Food Network ppl may have seen it.

On Sunday... we went to the Salty Dog Cafe to eat.  And behold.. we see a salty dog

and a couple of parrots

After lunch we walked around the area and then headed off to the beach.  The weather wasn't sunny... but still warm enough to go swimming.  Unfortunately Irene had to leave that day.  I couldn't keep her here as much as I wanted to.  So ask her how much fun she had and come visit me!!!!
