| Sorry that I haven't written. Been so busy, ya know the sunshine and all! Well, we went to Illene & Jerry's house and Chase swam on his own!!! Well (technically he did have swimmies) but still, he did not cling onto me. Mikey is in the deep end of the pool now, hopefully he will try the slide (he slowly attempted yesterday at Gloria's but that was it). Well, everytime Chase see's his big brother do something, he wants to catch up. Sunday Michael & I are going to Hackensack Hospital for a Brain Tumor seminar. From 8:30 - 3:00 p.m. Sounds long, but the more educated we are about it, the more at ease we'll be (not that you can ever really feel at ease, but....) anyways, I think it will help us understand more. All of Chase's Doctors will be speaking, even Staci, our social worker from the hospital. What a wonderful group of people. Well, that's all for now. | | |
| Hello everyone, well yesterday Early Intervention came to go over some more things regarding Chase's speech therapy. Hopefully he will be starting early September. Shari, one of the first evaluators from Early Intervention said that Chase is "the miracle child"! Chase has accomplished soooooo much just in the last month - he has gone from saying 2-3 words (if that!) to quite a few now! He says Hi and waves his hands, he almost says bye (he tries and he waves his hands while trying to say it), here you go (while handing something to you, and on Friday, Marisa was over and she heard him say twice "I'm scared" while playing on the jungle gym with Mireya. Although you never want to hear your child say "I'm scared", those words were music to my ears. Chase's next MRI is in November 2003. Well, I'm signing off now to be with my Miracle Child and I want to thank Shari, Susan, & Kathleen from Early Intervention for assisting Chase into maturing into a normal (almost) 3 yr. old. - bye Chase's Mommy | | |
| This is my 2 1/2 year old son Chase William. Chase suffered a Brain Tumor in August, 2002. Needless to say my family had gone through so much pain. However, Chase is doing very well now. Although he must go for MRI's every 6 months to be sure that this tumor isn't coming back, we enjoy his newfound accomplishments. The tumor that Chase had was a Choroid Plexus Papilloma - posterior fossa tumor 4 1/2 cm in size. Now, Chase is running, playing, potty training and trying to talk. | | |
