Last week my family and I just got back from a family vacation to Florida. It was so much fun! For the first time my whole family flew together all 12 of us. This was half the fun needless to say we were quite the show. Trying to get all our suitcases checked in then going through security and trying to find and get on all the shoes on the kids was funny to watch. On the way back my little brother had a coconut with him in his check- on which we had totally forgotten about until we got to security. After a little bit of explaining what it was (it looked like a bomb on the x-ray) and them testing it we finally got through the security. Once we got off the plane it was quite the job to find everyone’s luggage. In Florida we got to go fishing, see alligators up close, go to the Kennedy Space Center, and swim in the ocean. We all had a great time but we're very sore and red by the end of the week. It was a great vacation.  Now we are back in Kansas and I will start work again. In a week I will start summer school at a community college. Hope you are having a great summer!

Wow! It's almost Thanksgiving time sure does seem to fly by right now! I finished my painting job I was very glad to be able to get that done before it got real cold. So, I just have my one job filing for the company I work for. I was only working part time last week so I was thinking it would be nice to be able to get some more hours so I was praying about it. And the very next day my boss came up to me an asked me if I would like to work some more hours for them helping them with a project they have. God is so good! He still amazes me how he works in my life.

When I was in high school my brother Evan and I were on a home- schooled robotics team. Now he is the team leader and my sister is on it also.  A few weeks ago they had their state competition for robotics and got 2nd so they are now going to go to regionals in Arkansas. My grandma from Iowa came down to see state it was alot of fun! Basically you have 20 some teams from all over Kansas most are public schools. They give you all the same materials like wood, PVC and motors. Every year the game changes. This year the theme was, going to Mars. So you have to come up with a design and build your own robot from the materials they give in six weeks. Then on game day all the teams compete against each other. It's like a football game except you cheer for your robot. They have alot of rounds where four teams compete at the same time trying to get the most points. This year your robot was supposed to go up the ramp and get as many boxes and bottles as you can in 3min. and unload it in your scoring bin. You can only have your driver and spotter out on the floor but you can not touch the robot. I thought I would show you a video of it.

Our team has the robot that looks like it has a box on the back of it.

A few days ago we got a new little kitten. It is the most playful thing. We have not been able to think of a good name yet. Any suggestions? So now we have one more animal in our house. It can be like a zoo some times.

Well I hope everyone has a great week! GO JAYHAWKS!!!!!!!!

  •     I know it has been a long time since I have posted.  Life has been going by so fast for me right now.  I am working two jobs.  In the mornings I am still helping my friend out with painting their house. In the afternoons I file papers or whatever little jobs need done at the office. It's nice to have an inside job too now that it has been getting a little cold for outdoor painting. A few weeks ago I got to go down to Bob Jones University in South Carolina. I was able to see some friends and BJU's film school.   It was a great trip. My little brother is now one I can't believe it has already been a year.  My sister Emma is down at OKC training center now doing Character First. My brother and I drove her down there. I hope to be able to see her soon. Well I hope everyone is having a great fall! Go Chiefs and Jayhawks!

  • Wow it's already August. I can't believe how fast this summer is going by. It sure is getting hot in Kansas it has been in the 100's and looks like it will be like that for awhile.  So far I have been having a fairly busy summer.  First of all my little brother is learning to walk, he is so cute Our church had a Vacation Bible School this summer and I got to video tape and make a video for the end of the week for all the kids and parents.  I really enjoyed getting to do this.  I was able to use a friends video camera DVX100B (a cool camera) that was a lot of fun!  I have been working for a family at our church scraping, priming, and painting the outside of their house. I'm very thankful for getting this work.  Also I have been working on painting the outside of our house. My brother Evan and I finished siding our garage, I am glad to have finished that. I had a friend, Sarah, come up to see me for a day, that was a lot of fun! Hope every one has a great week! How is your summer going?

  • It's summer!!!  I am loving this weather and being able to be outside so much.  Lately I have been accumulating quite a few pets; I love animals   So far we have gotten 11 chickens, a turtle, cats, and a dog.  The turtle we had only a few days then my little brother let him go. My dog ,Dude, loves the chickens our Grandpa got us, he is so funny.  I think he thinks he is their daddy because he will try to protect them from our cats who love to stalk them.  We have also been seeing a few snakes around our house, which is one animal I do not like.  The other day my mom came running in the house calling for me to bring my gun outside, she has never done that.  I thought wow what in the world is outside it turned out to be a snake in our yard. Needless to say we now have a few snake skins out in our shed that my brother has skinned. We are now thinking of getting a pig, but we will see if this works out.  Today I got to learn something new that I have not done before.  An elder from our church came over and showed my brother Evan and me how to side our garage.  I now have a new appreciation for people who do that.  It's alot of work so we should be keeping busy for a while.

I thought I would leave you with a verse that I have been thinking on.  When I was reading in Jeremiah 45 the other day verse 5 just stood out to me.  The first part says, And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not.  It was a good reminder for me that I am not on this earth to do great things for myself but am here to serve and do the Lord's will. Even when it is some thing that I do not want to do or am ready to be done.  Hope everyone is having a great summer!
