Hi guys.  Hope all is going well.  I've been busy writing and I have company, but I wanted to pop in and say...if any has read abotu the RWA RITA award fiasco, let me just say it wasn't as bad as everyone made out.  It seems that RWA was trying to show clips and music from the last twenty years and they took a wrong turn, but the more militant idiots in RWA are trying to make this some right winged conservative agenda thing.  Oh dear.  Politics are so silly.

All I have to say about it--can't they find something more serious to argue about?  Not what pitcures were shown, though I must admit the music 'don't worry be happy' with the pictuers of Tiniman(misspelled) Square was awful.  And that it was three hours was a grave error in judgement.

So why argue.  Next  year they can simply make sure it isn't quite so long and focuses more on romance.

My suggestion?  Join ACFW!  They're a great place and though with all of our members, you'll see some disagreements, it's certainly not quite as bad as other sites!

Okay, joking aside...seriously, don't we have better things to do with our time than argue?

If you are wondering what I'm talking about, stop by Brenda Coulter's site (do a search).  She posted her take on it and my goodness!

My company is here from Michagan and she's leaving today.  Boo Hoo.  I've so enjoyed her.  She's been a great distraction from life!  We're going to go run the roads right now and then maybe chat some more, swim and then this evening I have to take her to the airport.

Finally, my daughter had a new job and I'm so excited for her.  My son is finished with school for this semester and has done great!  Yippee!  And my semester is over as well.

Yeah!

Grace Like Rain

Saturday.  Wow.  Another week.  Life needs to slow down.

Well, my daughter has an interview Monday morning.  Be praying for her that she gets a job.  My son had an interview, but hasn't been called back for a second one--which I'm a bit glad.  He would have been working nights.  We bought his air plane ticket to Ill. so he can go see his girlfriend <?> graduate from Navy Basic training.

We went to see Batman Begins and The Island last night.  I have to say, Batman Begins was okay.  It was too long--gratiatous action<G> (how do you spell that?) but The Island...was well above expectations.

my daughter pointed out a very interesting scene...at one point these clones are half grown and they decide they don't want them and just begin killing them off--and she was like...did that remind you of abortion?

I hadn't made the connection...but yes, it did.  In many ways.  It was a very good movie, however.  It was a bit weird watching Ewan talk to Ewan at one point....Two of them...wow

One scene that I didn't like...but other than that, a really good movie that makes you question life and what causes life...Yes, God is even mentioned

:)

Blessings all

Well, I am in 'recovery mode'.  Just had 11 young girls spend the night Friday night and part of Saturday.  It's now Monday and I took a 3 hour nap today! LOL!

I am still recovering.  We had a blast.  The other teachers didn't show up, but that's okay, 11 is not 25, which we had last year!  We chatted about all types of things, went swimming, etc.

I missed that one girl wasn't there.  I am worried about it, but will let it slide and pray for her.

Am looking forward to Wednesday night.  It'll be my first night as solely the missionette leader and not teaching a class.  I'll so miss the kids.  Not sure I am making the right choice.  Hope I am.

We had a wonderful service Sunday.  I so needed that.  God chastised me about not spending enough time with Him.

So, guess you know what I'm going to be doing a lot of.......;)

Anywa;y, God bless!

Well, church went great tonight.  We started 'live' music without the live.  Our guitarist couldn't be there because a friend was in surgery!  Oh, the joys of a small church! hehe!

Anyway, it went well.  I'm exhausted, came home and worked on a website.  http://home.comcast.net/~bglake73  It's taking shape.

And, today is our 23rd anniversery.  My husband completely forgot.  I was sitting in the living room working on my laptop and it's nearly noon and suddenly, he comes running in, sweaty and dirty (he's getting to mow the lawn--I can't yet because of the MS attack and how it's knocked me for a loop--though I did try two days ago)...anyway...(by the way, I call it a Satan Attack not an MS attack because we really know where that is coming from!)  ... and he goes...OH PLEASE FORGIVE :ME>...I look up like..what?...he's...I looked at my watch and saw the date...

Well, I only shrugged and went back to work...no big deal.  Please!  hehe.  And then, he starts to HUG ME!  :YOW!  I was like, back off bucko..you stink, you're wet--and not from a shower!

Poor man.  If you could have seen his face!

Be praying.  Tomorrow, aka today (as it's already 1:30 in the morning) is when the board meets and votes and then my wonderful, now not stinky, husband should have a job!

Yes, he did shower before church--thank goodness!

What did God show me today?  Well, in my Bible this morning, I was reading Acts.  I am in Acts at the moment, and I read about Paul's adventures and Jason being questioned when he'd done nothing wrong.  I thought, gee, you know, we really don't have life bad at all.  We don't have to sneak around to keep from getting killed!

And Paul really wasn't much different from us.  Sitting around, talking with the philosphers of today, trying to convince them that the 'unknown' god isn't a god of silver, gold, prosperity, poverty or anything else, but a very real God who revealed Himself in the person of Jesus Christ to humanity.  What a thing to happen--even the angels couldn't fathom the gift God gave us!
