| i have a xanga account?! hmm.. might as well update.. made pizza today for dinner. i tell ya, it's all about the dough. There's this bakery nearby that sells its bread dough before the baking actually takes place (hence a 'dough') and although i felt ripped off having paid the same amount as its baked state (somebody explain to me the logic behind this), i wasn't complaining with the end-product:). Made me miss the saturdays topping them square pizzas with trent and jen.. does the dorm still do pizza saturdays?? So that to say, it was one of those object-related-reminisce moments for me..ha.. tells ya how long its been since the last i made pizza.. i think it was during high school (while in turkey) science class that we were asked to list any objects/scents/tastes/etc. and to connect them with memories of people or events of the past.. And today, i played basketball in my brothers' school-yard! Didn't realize until today that it's been almost two years since i last 'played' in any school-yard. Felt gooood . Sure won't be another two years til the next time.... | | |
| and so it begins...yah baby i'm a sophomore.. in college! but not really. i don't know how that nomenclature would work in a 6-year system. super-senior and then mega-ultra-senior?? (although, super-senior implies that you failed a year somewhere in between...does it not?). well. forget it then. but tis true i am (and cannot fathom that) as of today in my 2nd year of college. i got my class schedule, and i now will have 8:30-16:30 of class on most days..with a couple days here and there starting a (whole entire) hour later. so a little more sleep. the first quintamester if you would, is called the cell & tissue injury course. so you get the general idea. and after some calculations, it appears that a grand total of three days is granted as days off between january and july. yippeeyay!!!!!!!! well ok, i'm not exactly partying about that. but today, i had some jelly belly(tm) beans and man! do they so not taste like what they claim to taste like! even the lemon doesnt taste like lemon and there are so many unknown candy companies that can synthesize semi-decent lemon flavors. so i looked up their website and they got buttered popcorn?! someone please tell me it doesnt taste like buttered popcorn.. and what's even more aggravating is that they're actually making money off this stuff. anyway. a beautiful picture of my school...

| sports bettinga hot topic of discussion.. at least in the little part of the world that i live in. it's invading all aspects of life. it is seen everywhere you look. from television to jerseys, it's harder to not see an ad throughout any given day. so.. obviously the market must be flourishing it seems anyone can start up they're own little betting business and succeed. they say if you don't play you lose! but how can that be true with all the new companies popping up here and there? well anyway, the real question is the betting itself. do or don't? very simple. should you bet or not? the same question asked differently; put your knowledge to the test? or not? take the SAT? or not? ok.. maybe not quite the analogy, but yes it's true. it is putting your money on what you know, and based on what you know what you predict might happen. it's like playing fantasy football, with a little twist. many of us have at least once played similar 'games' without thinking twice about it. and perhaps would continue to not think twice if say for example, Yahoo Sports said you had to pay in a small fee but with a chance of winning some back depending on your team's performance. so then is it the amount of money put into risk? little is ok much is bad? and even if it's not a slot machine where you're solely dependant on luck, upsets and 'unlucky' events happen so often in sports that they're almost very much like slot machines. so..in hopes that this would trigger some thinking in all of us.. during all of that free-time we have. it's a tough one friends. | | |
| what about the jam sandwich?!this morning i read a disturbing fact on msn.com... this solar system has more than just our nine beloved planets!!! to many of us that doesn't really ring a bell (i mean, there sure ought to be more discoveries with all the explorations and technology that's going on) but for me.. this means that a childhood memory of mine shared by many others will be carried on to history books and told as once-upon-a-time stories to grandchildren. what is this precious memory you may ask.. for a nine-year-old child with an average IQ and an average interest in astronomy to memorize all the planets--and in order--is not an easy task. and thank god my teacher understood that fact very well. so in hopes that her apprentices would remember the order in which the planets are situated, she taught the class what was going to revolutionize the classroom..; 'my very early morning, jam sandwich usually nauseates people'.. and that was it.. the trick that caught every child's attention and awe and realize that teachers must be super-smart people. for the longest time it was repeated over and over.. not because we had trouble memorizing it, but because it was so sooo cool. it was like the secret gang phrase..like the handshakes and such.. but..but. .now.. with more of them planets being found.. there won't be any more jam sandwiches.. no more early mornings with nauseated people.. and more importantly, no child will ever learn because now there are 53 more planets--with more to come--and each of them named as if they were some sort of secret key-codes for nuclear weapons.. poor kids... | | |
| Marco Materazzi Man of the Match..should he have been..?materazzi.. so he fails to fool the refs and becomes the cause for the the penalty, then almost scores an own goal, but shows everyone that it was only a joke as he actually scores at the other end to shoot down any suspicion, then does something that absolutely infuriates the vip of the darn tournament like as if he is taking away the penalty gift he gave earlier on, only to smash in the most beautifully executed penalty by a left-footer... that is some performance at the worldcup final lads.. don't you wish you could do ALL that materazzi did in just over two hours.... with over a billion watching. | | |
