Busy, busy, busy!

Hi Xangaland! The last few weeks have been insanely busy at work. Right now I'm on a 7 day stretch until I start vacation at 2pm Friday afternoon. then I'm off for 11..count em' 11 DAYS!! And let me tell ya those days are already filling up in a hurry!! The girls and I had a great time at Casino Rama 2 weekends ago..we always have a great time. We forget that we're wives, girlfriends and mothers and just focus on US having fun. Every woman should have these get aways to look forward to with just their best friends. We saw Toto on the Friday night and after the show we ran into none other than Steve Lukather (one of my fav guitarists of all time) at the hotel lounge. We saw him and Leland Sklar enter and several fans went aflockin'. We were smart..sat back and watched at the bar until the crowd thinned out then I approached Steve and handed him a shot of JD on ice. His response was "how did you know that was my favorite?" We then engaged in conversation and I asked him a few minutes into the conversation how he felt to be turning 50 this year. He said "you know I'm turning 50?" then I said "Yes on October 21st." He shook my hand said "you are a true fan!!" (it also pays to do your homework ahead of time!!) He then pulled a seat up next to mine and bought me a drink!!  We sat and talked for a really long time (and he bought me another drink) about so many things. We talked alot about Richard and he asked me "are you a personal friend of Richards?" I told him "I'd like to think so but after meeting him at least 14 times in the past Richard still can't remember my name." He said "I do. It's Christine". He gave me 3 kisses on the cheek over the course of the night and before he left /got kicked out of the bar(lol..never tell Steve it is past last call) he shook my hand again and said "It was really nice talking to you hon." I was on cloud nice!!! We went thru the casino after and came back to the hotel and saw Steve going in for something to eat. We were hungry so we kind of followed him in. there we met Bobby Kimball who took quite a liking to my friend Liza (even though she was a bit freaked out by the whole thing ) and sat at a table next to Steve's and even ate some of his chicken wings.Too cool. In the morning at breakfast we ran into Simon Phillips (drummer of Toto) who is one of my brother's "drummer" idols (my brother is a drummer himself) which was quite the thrill. what a sweet soft spoken man. He was the drummer on the Who's farewell tour in 1989...he's got quite the resume! Anyways it was a great weekend..even better than I ever thought possible!!!

This coming Friday night a bunch of us are hopping the border to go see Foreigner play a free concert outdoors at the Seneca Casino. We're celebrating my friend Deb's birthday and it's doubley great as all 4 of us are starting vacation that night!! Saturday a group of us are going to see David Wilcox perform outdoors at Canal Days at a town about 30 minutes away. David Wilcox is very popular still in Canada..not sure if he's well known in the States or not. My brother is coming out with us that night which should be fun cause we haven't seen each other and hung out for awhile. I miss him like crazy!!

Sunday morning hubby are heading out early to Canandaigua in the Finger Lakes area for a couple overnight trip. My dad is watching my son and dog Bailey and my brother is watching my other dog Annie. We haven't been away just the 2 of us for 3 years since we went to Sterling Heights (just outside of Detroit) to see Richard play at the Amphitheater there. WE NEED THIS SOOOOOOOOOOO BADLY!!! The place we're staying is www.theinnonthelake.com and it looks fabulous! We're gonna swim, relax, take a boat cruise and mainly reconnect!    It's a long weekend (Civic holiday weekend in Canada) so he's off monday and we'll be back sometime after supper that night. I'm so excited..I can't wait. My parents stayed there about 4/5 years ago and the finger Lakes was always one place my mom loved to visit!!

Next week I promised my son we'd go to the Drive-In one night-just the 2 of us- and motorized go-carting one day. Next Saturday a group of us are going to Darien Lake(used to be a six flags amusement park) for the day and seeing Bryan Adams there that night. I'm getting tired just thinking about my vacation!!!! LOL!!!!

Until next time people!! No grass is growing under these feet!

Hardly fair to come on here just to change my background and not say hello to those of you still on Xanga! HELLO! I had pretty much given up my xanga but the powers that be that own this site renewed my site without me approving. Apparently I was to let them know I did not want to be renewed! I've occasionally peeked into your xangas but I know I've been scarce..my comments even scarcer!Well I had really gotten into Myspace until I discovered Facebook (thank you Linda!) for any of you that have Facebook you can find me under Christine McCullough Wiley. Facebook is a blast and I have about 18 photo albums of my life from the past 6 months on there.

Life has remained pretty much the same since I was on here last but my hubby has a new job working for Moore's Insulation (thanks again Linda). I've been to Vegas....that was an experience I'll never forget..and I've mainly been doing the usual since..working too many hours, hanging with friends and going to several concerts. Speaking of which I'm headed to bed in a few minutes as we have another girls road trip to Casino Rama tomorrow to see Toto. I ended up with front row seats and I can't wait to see Steve Lukather and the band bring down the house. I saw Toto last November when I went to Chicago for Richards benefit show. I made a new friend through this show..Timre. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow night girl..you made the show in Chicago so much fun!!

Sorry to type and run but a good night's sleep is definitely in order. I promise to report after this show..I am bet and determined to meet up with Steve again after this show like we did in Chicago. I'm such a lil stalker!!

Night all!!

                         teeth

I GOTS ME A NEW TOOTH!!!

Yep it's been another one of those damn weeks!! March break from hell!!! I managed to hurt my back again on Tuesday morning. I got up at 6:30 as I had decided previously that this was the day I was heading to the Passport Office to get my passport done finally. The lineups in Canada have just been horrific since they announced you had to have a passport to travel outside of Canada-by air-that deadline was in January and now just to travel by car you have to have it by the end of this year. Seeing as I am 40 minutes from the Buffalo border &we go to alot of concerts and hockey games in Buffalo I couldn't wait any longer. I specifically didn't need it for my Vegas trip as I'm driving to Buffalo and flying within the US but it just puts my mind at ease. It's very confusing and very silly!! Anyways back to my back-I got up at 6:30 and let my dog out and when I bent over to take her off the leash it happened again. I slipped that damn last vertebrae! ARGH! And of course Tuesday is the only day that my chiropractor is closed! So I called for the hell of it after getting my passport filed (I went as I was up anyways and i thought I might be able to work it out) and the Doc had a meeting in the morning but agreed to come back to the office after and see me! My chiropractor rocks!! He even gave my son a free treatment on the house!! I took the night off work and just rested and iced my back every hour.

Went back to work on Wednesday but on Wednesday night after supper I felt something strange in my mouth. I went to look and to my dismay I was missing about 1/4 of one of my top front teeth. I FREAKED!!!  I knew I had a cavity in that tooth cause I could feel it with my tongue..but I kept putting off seeing a dentist..and putting it off.. and putting it off. Seriously people I would rather sleep with a cobra than to see a dentist. A pap smear is like a day in the park compared to seeing a dentist. I have had a phobia my whole life of dentists...that is until today!!! He was referred to me thru one of my friends and I am forever indebted to her. This dental clinic has 6 dentists-they are open from 7:30 am -9:30 pm every day and all day on saturday. They have 2 waiting rooms with 2 big screen tvs-you can pick which room you want by what movie is playing. They have a separate booth for kids that has 2 playstations. they have a coffee bar, a fruit juice bar and fresh fruit to eat!! I've never seen anything like it in my life!! Each examining room had a large tv and they hand you the remote when you come in. I got caught up on my soaps! I never felt a thing-even the needle!! They fixed me up in good time and my tooth looks even better than my old one!! The dentist was funny, told me funny stories and sang almost the whole time he worked on my tooth.  I'm going back next Friday to see the Hygienist and she's gonna take xrays and see what else needs to be done-I know I have things that have to be fixed. When I left the office I actually started crying when I got in my car-you have no idea how upset I was about my tooth-I talk alot and smile even more.. and I couldn't do it! My life long fear of dentists is finally over..my child hood dentist really did a number on me! This new dentist told me that if I am feeling any pain at all-then he is doing something wrong..I am never to feel pain again when I see him.

Any one else ever have a phobia of dentists?

Hopefully this weekend will go better..I hope to get out for some green beer tomorrow night!!

 Making Memories of Us.............

Had a pretty crappy week this week (some of which was PMS and my son)-I guess I was just coming down from my girls weekend away to Casino Rama in Orillia. 5 of us went this time(1 was snuck in) and had our usual let loose, blow off steam, act crazy kind of weekend. We had front row tickets to CCR this time. To tell you truth I think they were okay in concert-I suffered some mental (alcohol induced) blocks due to drinking almost a 26er of vodka. And believe it or not I was one of the more sober ones!!LOL!! After the show we went back to the room and had some noise complaints by 12:30. So 2 of the tireder ones crashed out and the other 3 of us went to see what kind of trouble we could get ourselves into in the casino. We never really made it to the casino! We came down to the lobby and spotted the guys from CCR sitting in the hotel lounge.  What a perfect opportunity to schmooze!! Within minutes we were getting autographs and chatting with them all. A  little while longer they decided to have a jam session right then and there with the drummer of CCR setting up a make shift drum set with beer bottles, wine glasses, beer steins, tea cups and drink trays on the stone ledge next to the grand piano in the lounge. The next few hours were spend listening to them jam and singing along with them to Billy Joel and Elton John songs. It was one of those moments that you just wanna remember forever!!! How cool was that!! Here's a few pics I wanted to share:

Where's all the Xangan's go?

I know I'm not very faithful with xanga but it seems alot of us aren't on here as much as we used to be. I'm not sure of Myspace has anything to do with but it is alot quieter 'rounds these parts lately! I used to sit around reading people's xanga entries all the time-now I'm in and out of xanga within a few minutes. Maybe I should try expanding my xanga friends-join some new groups or something. It's no big deal- but there are a few of you I miss hearing from.I know life just gets in the way sometimes!

Anyways I'm on the mend with my back but now I have a sinus infection/toothache! I'll find out if the sinus infection is causing the toothache within a few days. I am just so tired of waking up with a horrible headache and tired of taking freakin' advil!!! The Doc put me on a nasal mist and Penicillin. Does anyone else sleep with a humidifier in their room? I've told hubby dozens of times that our house is too dry-I'm always having sinus problems. Also I think it's time to have our vents cleaned professionally-I have so many allergies-it couldn't hurt.Okay-enough about my nose-lol!

Got tickets this past week to see REO Speedwagon and Air Supply at our local casino. NO MORE CONCERTS for me for a bit. I realized I will be spending 4 weekends at a casino in March. Next weekend we have our girls getaway at Casino Rama and we've got front row for CCR. Can't wait! Me and my girls need to get away together so bad and rebond!! I wish ticketmaster had some type of rewards plan-I swear I'm in the top 10 of best customers!

Okay-time to hit the hay...just wanted to pop in and say "hi!"
