| Wow it's been an insanly long time since I've updated. Sorry, well hopefully someone will still read my xanga. I guess I'll start from where I left off. Well this summer I got called to do disaster relief for hurricane Katrina. It was pretty cool I felt like a was in the movie twister or something, I was sitting in starbucks with my good friend Libby when my phone started ringing and the person on the other end said be packed and ready in 1 hour your going to New Orleans, I'm not a very spur of the moment person, but I was like why not, so I ran home threw some stuff in a bag and took off for the south. I ended up spending a month posted at a NASA base, camping out and feeding people. It was an awsome experience. A little scary, but it was cool knowing that I could help people. Then I flew home just in time for school, and started a new job a Nordstroms which is fun and will soon be starting an intership with a dental clinic which will hopefully help my chances of getting into the dental school that I am trying for. I am also looking forward to a trip to Peru with Libby and my parents and NorthWest medical teams. They are a non profit christian organization that goes to third world countries and offers medical treatments to people who on their own would never be able to afford it. Well thats all I can think of for now. Sorry it's taken me so long to update! Well I miss all of my WOLBI friends. Hope to hear from you soon! And congrats to Laura and Jared! | | |
| Wow long time no write.... I think I have greatly neglected my faithful Xanga, I am sure that anyone who has read my entries in the past has now moved on, but I shall make an entry none the less.... After school got out in June I started on my 2 week road trip back to Oregon, although totally not practical I decided to take the southern route which was crazy fun, went to Georgia, spent a week in florida, drove thru a hurricane to New Orleans spent a couple days there, went to New Mexico for a couple of days, then spent a couple of days in Colorado, so with my trip to and from wolbi I think I have managed to do a complete loop of the US, what more could a girl ask for! Things are going well at home, I went to school all summer, which ended up fun, (and by fun I mean not so much, school is not a summer sport, it's just plain wrong!) and am now on break until September 26th, which in my book is pretty exciting! I recently got a full time internship at a dental clinic which brings me one step closer to getting into the Dental program I am trying to get into, I have also been filling my time, with the help of Libby, searching for the perfect apartment, which I have decided is not out there. I have also been hiding out from my best friend who gets married in March as she has decided to set me up with every single Christian guy in the Portland Metro area...please make it stop!!!!! If I get tricked into one more awkward date I'm going to scream!!!!! Have I mentioned that I hate dating. Anyways besides joining the witness protection program things are going great, but I do find myself on occasion missing some of my WOLBI friends. I hope you all had a great summer! Laura Hess call me sometime, I need to find out if you're moving to China any time soon... Well thats all for now...Later | | |
| Hello there, old WOLBI students. Well it is the 2nd so that means that I am officially done with WOLBI, no more tests, no more school, and no more rules. Sigh.... I'm still trying to figure out if thats a good thing or bad thing. I must say that I am finding myself missing some select people, but I'm sure with time and counseling my wounds will someday heal. Well just to keep you up to date I am at the moment sitting in a Marriott in Saratoga NY waiting for my parents to fly in to Albany, so that I can start my journey to Florida for some theme park fun and then, although popular belief says Washington (aka Bill), on my way back home to Oregon. I'm pretty excited because I am quite fond of road trips. If all stays on schedule, I should make it back just in time to start school. Well thats all for now, I hope everyone is having a great summer break, and I just want to say that I miss all the girls from Europe Lower, especially the girls located in "Rum" 3. And although I am located right next to Borders, I have been unable to enter because it brings back too many old memories....its just too soon after the "breakup" (and yes that is indeed directed to you Bill) Ha! Talk to ya all later! | | |
| Wow so don't I feel like an idiot! I was completely stressed about going on OAE last week. In fact I was more than stressed, I might have been caught throwing the occasional temper tantrum that week, but once I got to New York City my eyes were opened to my lack of faithfulness. OAE was a blast, it was so great to go out on the streets of NYC and just talk to people about God. It really opened my eyes to how empty life can be without Jesus. I got to do some rope tricks, which was fun, and some kids meetings, which was amazing. We also had some free time to mess around, which I am really good at. It was a great time. I guess the moral of the story, is trust in God and he will take care of it. Well thats all for now....Later | | |
| It's been quite awhile, so many things have happened in the last week....so many things that I am finding myself too lazy to write in detail about it so let me give you the short story. Went to Montreal, become immortal after signing a wall, set off a city wide alarm in Albany, got lost in Lake Placid after being left alone in a restaurant with 12 crazy Plancidonian guys, lost my friends in the great Borders books, re-watched a scary movie I vowed I would never watch again, ate at Taco Bell way to many times! Got my first D point, and withdrew from school....(not until summer though) Now I am being forced against my will to New York City, for a little character building Open air Evangelism. Ahh life is good.... till next time... Later | | |
