Knowing the Will Of God

Knowing the Will of God

I like this subject because it challenges us to really search what is in the Heart of God.  As the Article Stated, It is God's will that we be saved first and foremost.  This goes to show that it is, as Phillip stated a couples of Sundays ago that it is God's heart and desire to see the lost come to know him.  This moves me to shape my whole life after this passion of our Lord.  It is God's will that we be filled with His Spirit, why because then Jesus is Glorified in the Earth and men are drawn to Him.  It is God's will that we remain pure in our thoughts and actions at all times.  I am so glad to know this, so many people are un aware that there is a standard out there that God placed and it is really for our protection.  Oh I pray as Paul prayed for the Colossians that we would be filled with the Kowledge of God's will.

Grieving the Spirit

I don't think any lesson has resonated more powerfully in my heart than this one.  Ever since approaching the topic, my heart has been in great caution not wanting to carelessly treat  God with contempt.   Yeah, I get really angry sometimes and fling things and swat the door.  This article calls us to regard the Word with honor and reverence, even more, with obedience.  Ephesians 4 points out that we are to be completely humble and gentle.  That we are to be kind and compassionate, forgiving one another.  It seems like it is our relationships with others that are a great marketplace to sell our intimacy with the Spirit for a brief moment in the flesh.   We must learn to relate to one another in love, otherwise we create distance between ourselves and God.  Mr. Beck says in this article that 99% of the time "righteous indignation" is just selfish anger in disguise.  Whoa!  How slow we must be to become angry, and how quick to forgive.

Oh, man.  Mercy...

Week 3

thinking the thoughts of God

It is powerful to "take control of your mind", as the author put it, and to realize that we are able to have victory in most of our battles just by doing so.  I was empowered while reading this article because it helped me realize the simple force behind optimism.  It was especially strengthening to read about the importance of the word of God in our thought processes.  Not just to be optimistic from a human stand point, but to truly believe the word of God and to have a sense of assurance about it.  The Author stated, "never let discouragement be the final authority." I believe this is crucial if we are to have victory and see the provision of God in our places of need.  Further more, it was suggested, we should become aware of our thoughts and those impulses that govern our decisions.  Whoa, if we could only see these things more clearly!  Praise the Lord for his Word!
