at first, i was always calmed by the city scene. it truly is the sign of life. people are alive here. work is always being done, people going back and forth through buildings. the proof that we have to show we exist are in these buildings. we made them, we use them, we have them show to us that we're alive.

but that was before. where i go to school now there is no such semblance to any type of city dwelling. i could drive out a mile or two from where i am and be surrounded by nothing but the two horizons in front of me and behind. it was almost scary - i would wonder what would be the greatness in all this? how could all this vast empty space mean anything at all?

i thought about it a lot and realized that we choose live with the walls we've surrounded ourselves with. it's suffocating really to be in a city. it's cramped, enclosed, and rushed. we need to take a break once in awhile and realize the natural beauty that god has made for us. for too long have i grew up with the obsession of man-made buildings and structures and ignored god's natural beauty.

feeling like switching to my xanga alias under eisforedmund. chrnobreak really is the stupidest name, but i think i'm too lazy to resub my 70+ and i probably won't have those two or three dozen people sub back to my crap now that they know what the subbed to. ^^;

i took this most recent trip to china town to mess around with a lot of the camera's manual settings...

and to just finish them off, here they are...

i'm headed back to chicago this friday with some friends... hopefully it'll be nice out! :)

that was in reference to me losing my camera on saturday. but i found it, so nyah. anyway, the date i made this post wasn't meant to be any sort of reflective collection of memories for this past year, but coupling this edit with the time (just past 4am) i'm back home again wondering the shoulda, woulda, coulda's. it's a bitch. i aimed for an ambitious 3.7/3.8 for this semester, but found out i could get by with a 3.5. but i yielded a 3.0 this semester. i have to let my family know i can't meet their expectations, struggle with finding a new major, and live with the possibilities of the shoulda, woulda, coulda's. i'm still taking classes this spring semester for nursing (anatomy, professional nursing, nutrition), but that just may be that much more of waste of time.

after realizing that 1) this fall 06 semester's grades didn't matter in the application for spring and 2) that people already in the program are doing worse than i am just bothers me. i let it get to me and i didn't care. i "didn't do my best" and as i sit at home and realizing how blessed i am with all of my own stuff: my personal laptop, ipod, new phone, new camera, i haven't earned any of it. no, i don't have a job, but here i am not being the best i can be but still wanting more than i'm worth. more than anything i should deserve.

i deserve nothing.
