Featured Grown Up Content Topic for May...Part II

    May 2008 Topic 2 of 2
    MOM

Since topic ONE didn't get much interest, I decided let's move forward. And since I host this site I can do that

Write a letter to your Mother. It doesn't matter if she is in heaven or on earth. Tell her what she means to you...

You can make it a simple list, your own poem, pictures, song or fairy tale, mystery, fun, serious; it's up to you... it's your blog! ~ feel free to use pictures, songs...you choose, we enjoy!

    Mists of Time

Somewhere in the mists of time, I lost you.
I dropped your hand, and you were gone.
I am so forlorn without your power and strength.
    You were so tired.
As soon as I turned loose,
I knew I would never find your hand--or you again.
    I miss you.

    A wisp in the wind,
    A droplet of dew,
    A memory in the mist,
    You are gone.

  • Busy, Busy, Busy

    bunkbedkitties
    "Bunkbed kitties?"

I had a very good working day today. Tomorrow I work in the Special Ed. class, and I am looking forward to it.

There's lots of moving around here, so I am busy helping some...
    I will post more soon.
Meanwhile, here is a picture and poem for you to enjoy.

    cowride
I always transport my cow in my car....

I may have put this one on before, but this is a good night for some light stuff....

    HALF

This half bottle of wine has gone to my head,
I gotta get up now and get to my bed.

The room is spinning, or maybe it's me,
Oh, man, it just can't be half past three.

My dinner was done, more than half burned.
My stomach is beginning to rumble and churn.

The floor is not level or flat anymore,
The carpet is blocking half of the door.

If I could half see the way things pan out,
I would have left the wine, of that there's no doubt.

Oh, Geez, I'm in trouble, here comes a cop,
I think I'm half lit, Where's a good place to stop?

If I could get up and walk to the stairs,
Maybe I could half fool them by putting on airs.

Someone moved the sofa and the table, too.
Wow! They moved half the house, now what will I do?

I can just sit right here outside in the rain.
But then they will think, I have only half a brain.

"What's that you say? What do you mean by that?"
"How can I be half drunk? I don't even live in this flat!

  • "Time Keeps on slipping...."

    log ride
At least they haven't brought in any logs to burn....

Things are being moved over here tonight, but not everything...I am trying to move over...Gonna run out of room at some point, but we are fine now....at least until the next load arrives...with the doggies.....

I went over and waited until the movers put the items into the POD this morning. Then I got some boxes at the grocery store, went over to pay Dad's bill at the nursing home......and! wonder of wonders!....he had a credit, so nothing was owed. They called Medicaid and the lady said she had sent a letter about another paper we need, so I have to wait until tomorrow or whenever it arrives......Then I took care of some things in Easley, stopped and gave Jean something I was holding for her(a paper about retirement). I stayed and visited about 30 minutes. She got about 6 phone calls while I was there...wow.
Then I stopped and got a fast food lunch (a real treat for me anymore), Dropped the boxes off at the "old" place, and came home. I took a nap to try to get my legs to stop hurting. It helped a little. I moved a bunch of stuff around getting ready for people and their stuff and dogs and their stuff. haha!
I met Jonathan and Brooke for a fast dinner at a deli for dinner, then went to the store for a couple of things. not much.

I have a job for Tues, Wed. and Friday for this week. Since I didn't get to work any last week, I really need these days to survive at the beginning of next month.

I probably won't get as many jobs the next two weeks since the PACT testing is being done those weeks. If I am lucky, I will get some calls to give the makeup tests...it pays much better than regular subbing.

I know, this is just a boring blog, but I need to keep up with and note what I do from day to day to get from one place to another in my life. My family is important to me. They are all interrelated and intertwined with my life and my focus in life. It is what I am about too.

Okay, that is it for me tonight.

  • A Day in the Life...

    guinea pig and cat
"It's mine, I tell you, all mine. I caught it, I claim it!"

I meant to go over to go to church with Dad, but it had already started. He and I went out on the screen in porch. We chatted a bit and he told me that he had been very sick, but was feeling better and wanted to go to lie down. When he got to the room, he got in bed and told me 'bye.' I was so glad he was not so discombobolated today.

I ate lunch with Will and his family and wife's extended family and some of their friends. It was a good lunch and most of the same ones that were at the game last night. The kids were mostly good. They sat at a table beside ours.

I did quite a bit of work around here trying to get ready to accomodate my temporary guests. I did have time, however, to squeeze in a little nap time. Getting up at 4 AM makes a nap very tempting in midafternoon.

I now have lots of sundries that I brought from Jonathan's. I have already raided it and gotten a couple of things that I needed to use today. He was glad when I told him about it. He said they would probably just stock the new kitchen with new items. I think that is probably a good idea...more for my kitchen.

One of the members of the lunch party, my dil's brother, a former police officer, and I had a good discussion about police suicide. He was talking about some old cases and such. There are several members of her family that are policemen. Anyway, I have sent him a link to JustMeAndy supported police officer's site. You can go over and connect with the link too. Andy usually has a good blog and a great message of some sort..ha! You can link to the police site from there.

Let's see, I don't think I know anything else tonight. Except I am still thinking seriously about selling my house....I will try not to bore you with this decision. BF, both sons, and a couple of others I have mentioned it to, seem to be in favor of it...we shall see.

I am thinking about riding out to the mailbox in my car....It is a miserable weather day, but no snow, yet. It is about 40 yards or so from the garage to the mailbox...it will be worth the ride, or not...
