last entry

Hey all, this is going to be my last xanga entry. The other day I decided that I should get a facebook, that way I could keep in touch w/ my school friends over the summer. My parents said ok so I got a facebook yesterday. Well now they have decided that they only want us(my sis and i) to have one blog thing, so I have to give up one of them. Sadly enough I have decided to give up xanga. I think most of you already have facebook, so I'll see you all there, as for the rest of you I promise to still write on all your blogs and keep you posted on how I am doing, and I hope that you will all soon join facebook too!

as for other matters, school is almost over! I have 2 more days left, 3 finals, and then I will have completed my freshman year of highschool!!! I'm pretty anxious to be done and get on with summer and freedom! today we have been working in our kitchen, we're remodeling it. It's gonna look pretty good when we're done, but at this point it's; no linolium, tools laying about everywhere, kitchen furniture scattered amongst other rooms in the house. But it's getting better. Later today we're going to go see Ocean's 13!! I'm sooooo psyched!! I love the other 2, and I've heard that this one is really good. And tomorrow there is a meal after church, so yup, thats gonna be lots of fun.

Well I don't have much else to say, I'll leave this on here for a day or two, until I know I've sucked as many comments out of you guys as possible and then I'll scoot countrygirlatheart_1028 off of xanga. It's extremely sad, I had thought that I would be on here for longer than the...9-10 months that I have been but, this is the way it is. So, I'll be sure to keep posting you guys and checking in here and there, adios!

Whew! the ball last night was a blast, I don't think I've danced so much in my entire life....aside from peach fuzz, that is. I had a great time being a server and hanging out with everyone and then the dancing began! I knew how to do a few swing dancing moves but other than that I was taught the box-step, some other waltz, some cool tango moves, and this awesome 'hand-shake spin' swing dancing move, which took me a little while but once I had it down it was tons of fun! So everyone danced and danced to their hearts content, and as if that wasn't enough we went out for ice cream afterwards! I had a dish a vanilla, yum. My sibs and I arrived back home at about midnight and after washing my black feet and repeating some of the nights events to my very tired father, all went to bed and slept peacefully. Then there was church this morning and I was having a very difficult time keeping myself alert during the service(although others had a more difficult time than I ;) but I was able to sleep for a little over an hour this afternoon, so I have recovered a bit of lost sleep. Well this is my last full week of school! Time for finals preparations. Joys. I've begun to prepare in algebra and spanish has about rapped itself up, so...yeah it's coming to a close. K, it's time for some shut eye, goodnight everyone.

I received this from a friend in an e-mail a little while ago:

FORGOTTEN FIGHTER

"In World War II" he whispered,
"I was wounded by a blast."
As he began his story,
Reminiscing of his past.

"I was just a boy back then,
I lied about my age.
To get into the army
And fight for the USA

I love this country very much,
It's still the very best.
And I would fight, to keep it free,
And, safe from foreign pest.

We won that war, and I came home,
My wounds had healed enough,
To re-enlist, with other men.
The arm made us tougn.

Then a little flare up,
In Korea called us out.
A threat against our freedom,
Spreading fear without a doubt.

There I cuaght a bullet,
When I tried to save a friend.
Another wound, for Uncle Sam,
They sent me home to mend."

"Soldier, have you had enough?"
My sergeant said to me.
"Or, do you want another tour,
If ever there's to be.

We would train adn fight again,
If ever it need be,
Because we loved America,
We'll fight to keep it free."

"It didn't take too long.
Before my boys were off again.
We were shipped off to a war,
We thought would never end.

I didn't understand it much,
If it was wrong of right.
But I was a US soldier,
And my country said "Go Fight"

I never questioned orders,
That were sent from up above.
I did it for America,
The country, that I love.

I fought to keep my country safe,
Again, in Vietnam.
Then, wounded I came home again,
A victim of napalm.

My fighting days were over now,
And, I had given all.
But, some had given more than me,
Their names are on a wall.

I am now, well up in years,
A soldier old and worn.
I could only sit and pray,
As, I watched Desert Strom.

So proud of our boys over there,
Who stand for what is right.
Freedom is the battle cry,
The reason why they fight.

Young soldiers fight for liberty,
Protecting freedom's bliss.
Old soldiers dream of bygone days,
While fighting loneliness.

We were heroes in our day,"
He said, and then he sighed.
"Forgotten in some V.A. home,
And all my friends, have died.

I never ask for anything,
Just wanted to live free.
But, if you write this story,
There are many just like me.

Who fought to keep our country,
Safe adn free fro every foe.
Only to come home again,
And have no place to go.

Sadly, when the limelight fails,
Heroes fade away.
Some men fight the silent battles,
Till their dying day.

Please remember what it took,
And join with us remembering
On this Memorial Day.

Memorial Day is Special,
It is not just summer's start.
The reason that we have this day,
Should be etched on your heart.

Lives were lost, and young men died,
To keep this country free.
So take a moment on that day,
To meditate with me.

Remember all those valiant men,
And women who fought for,
The lifestyle that you now enjoy,
Because they went to war.

Have a good memorial day everyone!

WE WON!!!!!! The Spanish vs. German soccer game was after school today, and the spanish beat out the germans 3-1! It was really close at the begining though! They scored 1st, then we scored. And then my spanish teacher(Senorita Stoll) found out that their goaly does not speak german, he's taking french! Many people jumped to the conclusion that they were trying to hide it from us and trying to cheat the game, but actually they thought it was legal. Humph, guess they've never played a game w/ Senorita Stoll! So the incredibly talented player was removed from the goal and the game progressed, giving us 2 more scores. Ker and I actually didn't play, their were so many players already and they were all very...large. But we did cheer! "Andale, espanol, andale!" Man, it was sooooooo hot out there!!! Gosh, everything was sticking to me, except my shoes the sweat made me slide all over in them. A very icky feeling, but nothing a nice cool shower can't help. Well despite my joys over the victory I am still very sad because most of you guys will be going to see Pirates of the Carribbean 3: At Worlds End, in a couple hours. But I need to stay at home and help my family with preparations for the arrival of our relatives tomorrow. Oh, and for those of you thought otherwise, Keri and I will not be coming to see P&P on Saturday!! Believe me, we're both terribly disappointed and we've been racking our brains in hopes that we might come accross a solution, but with my big cous taking time off of school and work to come spend time with us, we think it would be very unfair if we were to leave him for a few hours, or even to take him with us. I am very sorry for all of you who had hoped to see us in the audience, cheering you on. But I wish you the best of luck! My sis also has this Boalsburg parade on Saturday, she's in marching band and it really stinks cause it's going to be like 70-80 degrees outside and they all have to be in full uniform!! Thats coats, pants, spats, gloves, hats, etc. Whew! They are not going to be happy campers when thats over! And then Saturday night by brother comes home! I can't wait to see him! He's very excited too! Well I need to get outside to help w/ our pool so, good luck everyone who's in P&P and you all have fun at Pirates and I will see you...Sunday.

I wouldn't be able to write to you right now, if it weren't for a miracle that happened last night. Here's the story: It was youth group and I was hanging out with a close friend when all the sudden I was fatally wounded! My life was hanging by a thread, death was breathing down my neck. I was losing conciousness. Thats when two angels grabbed me by the foot and saved my life! After they had labored over me for hours and hours, I remember coming too and hearing one of them say "Your gonna be ok" Whew! What relieveing words! I would now like to thank my 2 guardian angels, Kleinekatze and Blusmurfgirl, for giving me a second chance at life! haha!

Ok, well then, I may not be able to write again for some time because our computer has died and we don't know how long it will be till it is back up and running. I will be able to check my e-mails on school computers, so feel free to drop me a note here and there!
