THE COWBOYS WERE LOSING THE DIVISIONAL PLAYOFF GAME 14-10 THIS IS WHEN THE GAME CHANGED. THE DALLAS OFFENSE LINED UP IN THE SHOTGUN FORMATION AND FAKED A PASS TO THE LEFT AND THE WITH MERE SECONDS LEFT ON THE CLOCK THREW A LAST MINUTE PASS OF DESPERATION TO THE RIGHT…DREW PEARSON CAUGHT THE PASS AT THE 5 YARD LINE, AND RAN IT INTO THE ENDZONE MAKING THE SCORE 16-14.

WHAT AN AMAZING PASS AND CATCH THIS WAS.

Doug Flutie exults after throwing his last-second TD pass to Gerard Phelan that gave BC a 47-45 win over Miami in 1984, one of the most memorable moments in University history.

ANOTHER FAMOUS HAIL MARY PASS WAS WITH DOUG FLUTIE WHEN HE WAS AT BOSTON COLLEGE.

DOUG FLUTIE THREW A 48 YARD "HAIL MARY" PASS WITH NO TIME REMAINING ON THE CLOCK THAT GAVE BOSTON COLLEGE A 47-45 VICTORY ON THE MIAMI HURICANES IN 1984 AT THE ORANGE VOWL.
BY RAY
CP STAFF WRITER

This past week, I was off site for three days. I wanted to share with
you guys a little about my adventures. I think it's important.

Tuesday morning I woke up and drove to Argyle, Texas to a camp ground
out in the middle of no where. Ask Reg...I swear my cell phone didn't
work worth a crap. LOL Now why would I go to such a God forsaken
location? I went to a seminar called "The Real World Experience".
Basically the entire trip was to help blind and legally blind people
learn the skills they need to live on their own after high school. I am
legally blind. I have trouble seeing things that the average person
doesn't.

Now, I am not fully blind. Trust me, there is a difference. To help you
understand this better, let's try this. most of you CP members use
what's called the "Default Skin". I don't. Go down to the bottom left
of any page on the forum and pull down that drop down box. It's a list
of skins. The very last one is called "Pie Version". I use that one.
Reg put that together for me a few days ago. That's the type of set up
I need to see the forum. Okay, now you can switch back. LOL I know...I
know...the colors are insane, but I do what I have to do to do things I
love. That's what this trip was all about, learning to be as "normal"
as possible by finding ways around stuff. I can do almost everything
you can...I just do it a little slower and differently.

Moving on...

I was actually late to camp. LOL Mom was sick. She had one of those
crummy migraine thingees, I had once. They are bad. When I got there,
we had steak for lunch. Usually I don't like camp food, but this was
good steak.

After lunch we went into a huge room and were divided into teams. My
team had me, and 2 blind boys around 15 years old. First, we had to
name our team. I spent a few minites listening to ideas and didn't
really like any they had, so I offered mine. I said, "We could be the
Dallas Cowboys!" LOL They jumped on that and we talked about football.
We did a few activities to help us get to know each other.

We then had to share our dream. I said mine was to report on NFL teams
for ESPN or something. They liked this idea. We had a speaker talk to
us about our dreams and how we can still accomplish them even if we are
blind. She told us we are just as good as other people and may even
have insights they didn't have. I am not sure I believe this, but you
know...I can learn to change how I think.

We told the group what we do in our free time and I got to talk a bit
about Cowboys Pride, Steeler Addicts, The Deck, and TSZ. I said I
worked on CP and hung out a lot on the other three. LOL I guess they
found this cool cuz after that I got a lot of questions. I became known
as "Football Chick". LOL The lecture was kinda dull, but what lecture
isn't?

After that, we went swimming. I brought my football to camp cuz
football makes me happy and in all honesty, I really didn't want to go
at all. I like to pretend I don't have eye problems and doing this
stuff sorta flies in the face of that ideology. So I took my football
to the pool. It ended up being a cool thing cuz I played with some guys
and then we found duct tape and a bell to put on it so that the blind
kids could play too. We divided into teams and played in the water. I
was QB. I never liked that part cuz I cant throw very accurately, but
we all had bells on our arms too, so I could hear where each receiver
was and didn't miss a pass. I used in the game some of the info from
Coach Bartel's lesson....like personell packages and such. My team won
by one touchdown, so YAY!!!! We were the Cowboys...the other team was
the Steelers. LOL.

After that, we went and tried to figure out a bus schedule. These are
hard to do with so many confusing numbers and stuff. We were gunna
travel into Dallas the next day and the staff wanted us to plan the
trip and tell them how much money we needed. My team, the Cowboys did
great. I did the bus part and my friend Aikman (we gave ourselves
names) did the money part. I (I was Emmitt) and the other kid (Deion
Sanders) thought Aikman should be a mathematician. He said, "Heck no".

As blind people, we rely a lot on other people to help us get where we
need to go and sometimes we have to take public transportation. I have
never done this before and was kinda scared. I thought I might get lost.

After that, we had down time. I went and played this game called
"Chutes and Ladders". The board had raised parts so blind people could
feel the game. It was cool, but I hate the game. Spending an hour going
back and forth up and down by luck is annoying. There's no skill
involved. The game could go on for ever.

After that I called Reg. I was upset cuz I missed the forum and still didn't see the point in going on this trip.

It rained a lot and I got muddy. Who knew it would rain this much. The camp was like a swamp. hah

We went to bed at 12am. The girls had a brand new cabin. It was
great....very fancy. Downside was, I got stuck with three die hard
Longhorn fans. AHHHH!!

This ends day one. This is a long story, so I'm splitting it into two parts.

about players who are the most indispensable to their teams. These are
the guys you can’t win without. When no Cowboys player made his list of
only 10 guys, I thought about who is the most indispensable Cowboy. The
answer was too obvious, at least for me. Doesn’t it have to be Tony
Romo? Looking at the choices of players we have on our roster today,
the number one guy we have to have going into 2007 is Tony Romo. Brad
Johnson is the only viable alternative, and he’s here to hold the
clipboard and be a veteran presence. At his age, he’s not going to lead
this team anywhere over the course of a season, he’s here as insurance
for a game or two. Besides, we’ve been hearing all about Jason
Garrett’s offense and the fact that the Cowboys want to go deep. By all
accounts, Johnson wasn’t showing much arm-strength in minicamps. Romo
is the guy they need to run this offense; he has to be the most
indispensable Cowboy. No?

to read the rest of this article click the link below and join cowboys Pride where there is no off season!!! By:Ray
CP Staff writer/Recruiting Team

I grew up in Texas and football came with the territory. Until I was
eight I never really got into the whole idea of staring at a box for
three hours watching men beat the crap out of each other. Then I met
Emmit Smith and everything changed. After giving football a chance upon
Emmit’s prodding I discovered something more than just guys smacking
each other while I ate popcorn and drank soda every Sunday, I
discovered my dad.

Up
until this point in my life, I’d never really given him the time of
day. Sure I was a tomboy and was always into some sport or another, but
as far as hanging out with daddy, I just didn’t want to try. My dad had
one of those jobs where he traveled a lot and was rarely home. When he
was home, he was cranky and rude, and a downright pain to be around.
Every Sunday he sat in his recliner and yelled at people that he called
“the Boys”. If I got in the way then I was in trouble. One time while
“the Boys” played a team daddy called” the skinz” I fell in the kitchen
on some glass. He didn’t even notice. I liked football but I didn’t
like daddy. I would record the games on videotape and watch them when
daddy was away so I could see them without daddy in the way.

One time he came home from a trip at four in the morning and found me
in front of the television watching my team with a smile on my face. He
picked me up and hugged me. He and I cried. He didn’t know I liked
football. I had been hiding it for almost a year. He asked me why I
never told him that I liked “the Boys” too and I cried and said, ”cuz
daddy you wouldn’t let me.” He stayed up and watched the rest of the
game with me in his arms. Every Sunday after that, he called me into
the den to watch "the Boys" with him. He taught me most of what I know
about football now and we grew closer and closer. I gave him the time
of day and started to forgive him for being a “bad daddy”. We watched
football together for the next 4 years. We never missed a game.
Football brings people together. People who hate each other sit down
and watch it together.

Even
now my new mom and I watch football together, and it brings us closer.
There are times I’d be so mad at her before kick off but once the ball
was snapped it all melted away. Football makes me happy. I don’t care
if it’s the off-season; I don’t always care if “the Boys” lose because
football holds me together.

When times are hard I go back and watch football. I have DVD’s of
all the great games. I close myself off in my room and watch them. Or
rather I listen to them since my eyes are not as good as they were when
I was little. I always feel better after I watch football. Even if it's
just for ten minutes. Football is a part of who I am as a person. I
hope someday when I have kids, football will bring us closer too. I
wouldn’t be the young woman I am today with out it.

That’s all I guess so guys do you have any great memories of watching the game when you were younger?

Sunday, June 17, 2007

X & O SURVIVOR ISLAND KICKS OFF!
Good freaking lord...would you just shut the hell up!!!!
First off Greg...You are injured!!!! If you are worried about your
value on the team, spend less time yapping and more time trying to fix
yourself for the season.

2nd, if you are worried about Spencer...GET A FREAKING LIFE, IDIOT!
He's a rookie!! If you can't stand the heat, get out of this league and
come watch football with me on Sunday!! We drafted a kicker, I don't
hear Grammatica crying like he's 4 that we don't appreciate him enough.
lol. Maybe cuz he understands the value of competing!!

And thirdly, don't get all pissy cuz JJ won't give you the time of day
to discuss a pay raise. You are under contract till 2009. You were fine
2 years ago when you signed this, so get over it. Maybe you think we
fans are bored in the off season and want a little drama. WRONG!!! We
don't! You have no basis for this. This idea of a pay raise or a trade
is insane. I don't know what bull crap you agent is feeding you, but
you may need a new one.

I suggest you shut up before you put yourself in a hole you won't be
able to climb out of again. No team in this league is gunna take you
injured like that and pay you nearly as much as JJ does. Plus you're
getting on up there in years anyway.

Assuming Spencer becomes as advertised and you get healthy, Dallas will
have 3 pass rushers, including D-Ware. Lets face it...we need work in
the area. You gotta be joking if you are worried about playing time.
lol.

So, shut up, go to mini camp, and act like normal. You are getting on my last nerve!!

Sincerely & with much love,
