I guess i will tag myself since apparantly i am too fast to catch. so here are six things that are weird about me:
1) I always smell my food before i eat it
2) I do 90% of my reading on the toilet (i wouldn't borrow any of my books if i were you)
3) I've got this obsessive compulsive thing i do with light switches
4) I could eat sushi for breakfast, lunch and dinner
5) Like many child prodigies (geniuses) i was born with this natural gift to dominate at Madden
6) If i won 100 million dollars, i would put my picture on every billboard in st. louis for a year (that would be so cool, no message or anything, just my face)

Christmas PoemO Christmas, O Christmas, where have you gone?
Shopping malls and the traffic, I feel you're a con
The peace and the joy of my adolescent past
Feels like it all just went by too fast
I like to sit back and think of those days
I'd like to think it was more than just another phase
The memories I have of staying up all night
The one day of the year me and my brothers don't fight
I remember the morning my brother Jon had much glee
His diaper fell off, and on the Christmas tree did he pee
The presents and excitement were a plus, I won't lie
But the love that I felt wasn't a thing you could buy
I miss those days as nostalgia kicks in
But now I have a son and we'll do it for him
So I hope that you all have the best Christmas in years
Embrace all the good things and forget all your fears
Merry Christmas everyone!

a blog from the schrute familyI don't have much to write today, but I found a new site that features blogs from Dwight K. Schrute from the office. My favorite character of all time. http://blog.nbc.com/DwightsBlog/
Here is his blog from today:

HOW TO WORK WELL WITH OTHERS
A blog on the internet, By Dwight K. Schrute
Sometimes people need to learn to work together and cooperate. This is called sharing. They teach it to kids.
We learned it while growing up on Schrute Farm.
Grampa Schrute used to say “Learn to share or I’ll eat you.”
Grampa Manheim used to say “Share and share alike, but do it better than the other kid.”
Here’s an example of getting along in a workplace environment:
For instance, you need to use the copy machine, and another co-worker, (who is huge and dumb as a musk oxen and works in accounting) is already using the machine to photocopy a picture of a girl with a surfboard from a magazine.
When I find myself in this situation, I become like the Governator from Terminator 1 and have these 3-4 choices pop up on a screen inside my human head.
The choices might be:
1) Stop what you are doing now and let me use the machine because I am your superior in every way.
2) Use a dragon pinch on his Carotid artery and cause him to collapse. (Jump back! Don’t get trapped under there!)
3) Yell out, “there’s a box of day old donut holes in the kitchen and they’re going fast!” as a diversion.
4) Say, “Excuse me, Kevin, but I have some very important Assistant Regional Manager photocopying to do and as soon as you can possibly finish up, I would ever so greatly appreciate it. So, whenever you’re done… “
So, assuming that I’m not forced or goaded into a dragon pinch ™ I would opt for the polite, civil and beneficent option 4.
That is called working well with others.
We have recently had a situation at the Scranton Branch of Dunder Mifflin (which rules, by the way! It will always be #1. Yeeehaw!) in which some of the cast-offs from Stamford have been sent over to work with us, or work under us as the case may be.
People ask me all the time, ‘Dwight, how did you get to be what you are.’ And ‘How do you always, get to the top of the heap’ and ‘Is there any more of that Marmalade?’ (That was Mose in that last one. Actually those were ALL from Mose.)
I answer, “First, establish dominance. Second, show everyone who’s boss. Third, use humor and or sexuality to get what you want. Fourth: Get to work earliest. Fifth, Don’t let anyone see your flaws. Sixth, ‘ABC’ Which stands for ‘Always Be Closing’. Seventh, don’t let Jim beat you at anything. Eighth, remember that ancient Celtic war chant, still used at many school sporting events, ‘Be Aggressive! Be Be Aggressive! Be Aggressive! Be Be Aggressive!”
I hope that has answered some of your questions.
Until next time, I am, Dwight K. Schrute
PS. That is all.

Deep ThoughtsJust a few deep thoughts to help you with your day:
Contrary to what most people say, the most dangerous animal in the world is not the lion or the tiger or even the elephant. It's a shark riding on an elephant's back, just trampling and eating everything they see.
As we were driving, we saw a sign that said "Watch for Rocks." Jill said it should read "Watch for Pretty Rocks." I told her she should write in her suggestion to the highway department, but she started saying it was a joke - just to get out of writing a simple letter! And I thought I was lazy!
Jill got offended that I used the word "puke." But to me, that's what her dinner tasted like.
I wish a robot would get elected president. That way, when he came to town, we could all take a shot at him and not feel too bad.
If you're a young Mafia gangster out on your first date, I bet it's real embarrassing if someone tries to kill you.

Wednesdays MuseIt is fine time that I return to spilling my ADD thoughts in an electronic forum. I would like to speak with any that will listen today about responsibility.
Not that I am an expert on this matter. I am not sure who to blame. I would like to blame my parents. After all, if I am screwed up in any way, they must take the majority of the blame. This may sound like a cop out from a person who stuggles with responsibility, but I am convinced that some people are "born" with it. That is not to say that we are not all responsible for being responsible. Or something like that. Anyway, this is a skill that I must constantly work on. I love that I have a free spirit. It is one thing that makes me unique. But they don't pay free spirits well. I used to view responsibility as a waste of time and an unnecessary burden. But now that I am a pastor with wife and child, I am beginning to see its usefulness in life. I am beginning to see the balance between free-spirit living and being a responsible person. God has called me to:
1) Be a good steward- with my time and money
2) Be a man of integrity- you know, say what I mean and mean what I say
3) Work hard- don't be a burden on society and earn my keep
Though I think that I will struggle with this skill my entire life, it is something I am determined to master. And I have made it my mantra that I will not let the "responsibility" squelch my imagination and outside the box reasoning.
By the way, The Rock has a new website www.therockstudentministries.org. (If this did not work, go to sites.advancedministry.com/therockministries.) It should be up after Thanksgiving weekend. Check it out. I will send a reminder blog when it is up. Have a fun turkey day.
