| THURSDAY JUNE 14, 2007 FLAG DAY !!!!!! I CAN'T HELP BUT WONDER HOW MANY CHILDREN UNDERSTAND ABOUT THIS COUNTRY'S FLAG AND WHAT IT REPRESENTS. BACK IN MY SCHOOL YEARS WE WOULD MAKE OUR FLAGS OUT OF PAPER AND COLOR OUR OWN. BETSY ROSS WAS VERY INSTRUMENTAL IN THE MAKING OF THE FLAG. SHE WAS THE SEAMSTRESS. I THINK ABOUT THE STARS AND STRIPES OF THE FLAG AND WHAT THEY REPRESENT. THIS FLAG REPRESENTS THE FIBER OF THIS COUNTRY AND THE PEOPLE. IT MOVES ME EVERYTIME TO SEE A HUGE FLAG UNFURLED ON A POLE OR UNROLLED AT A HUGE EVENT WITH LOTS OF PEOPLE AROUND IT. I THINK ABOUT ALL THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO HAVE SERVED IN OUR MILITARY TO PROTECT THIS COUNTRY. I THINK ABOUT OUR FOREFATHERS THAT STOOD FOR FAITH IN GOD AND TRULY LOVED THIS LAND IN WHICH WE LIVE. I THINK ABOUT THE FREEDOM THE FLAG REPRESENTS. WE TAKE IT FOR GRANTED EVERYDAY. SO TODAY I CHALLENGE YOU TO EITHER FIND OUT ALL YOU CAN ABOUT OUR FLAG AND TO WAVE IT !!!!!!!!! | | |
| The GiftChristmas what does it mean to you? Is it all the lights and decorations or all the shopping and fighting your way through the stores? Maybe for some it's the dreaded time of the year when bible believing christians celebrate our Saviors entrance into this lost world we live in. God had a perfect plan to save this world from their sinful selves. That plan was sending His Son Jesus to come and live among us then go to a cruel cross to die for our sin and filth and then to be ressurected that we might worship Him instead of a piece of stone and wood which is a dead savior that can't do anything in our lives. Yes He is living and one day will come to take His church of true believers with him to a grand place called heaven that He has prepared. The Ultimate and Most Awesome Gift Jesus Christ. Have you placed your faith in Him? If not this could be the best Christmas you have ever had. Christmas definiton is plain and simple JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | | |
| PRECIOUS MEMORIESI WOKE UP THIS MORNING TO A MEASURABLE AMOUNT OF SNOW AND I COULD HEAR THE VOICES OF MY DAUGHTER AMANDA AND MY SON CHRIS ( WHO ARE GROWN UP AND HAVE LIVES OF THEIR OWN) WHEN THEY WERE YOUNG CHILDREN THEY WOULD GET SO EXCITED TO GO PLAY IN THE SNOW AND NOT HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL. THEY WOULD HURRY AND EAT THEIR BREAKFAST AND GO GET THEIR WARM CLOTHING ON AND OFF THEY WOULD GO TO PLAY IN THE WHITE STUFF. THEY DIDN'T REALIZE WHILE MAKING THE SNOWMAN THE SMALL BALL WOULD BECOME SO HEAVY FOR THEM. THEN I WOULD GO OUT TO HELP THEM FINISH THEIR SNOWMAN. THEIR FACES WOULD BE ROSY RED AND BY THAT TIME BREATHING HARD. THEN IT WAS TIME TO COME IN FOR AWHILE TO GET WARM AND DRY OUT AND TIME FOR A SNACK. THAT WAS ONE OF MY PRECIOUS MEMORIES THAT CAME TO MY MIND THIS MORNING LOOKING OUT AT THE BEAUTIFUL SNOW THAT HAS BEEN PROVIDED BY OUR MIGHTY AWESOME GOD TO ENJOY AND TO PROVIDE MOISTURE FOR THE GROUND. NOW THAT I LOOK BACK AND ENJOY MEMORIES LIKE THAT IT TRULY IS A JOY TO BE A MOTHER AND NOW THE JOY OF BEING A GRANDMOTHER IS A BLESSING ALSO. | GO CAST YOUR VOTEI exercised my right to vote this morning. Even though our country is a mess we should still go and cast our vote of whom we want to serve in office. I wanted to vote early since Tues I will probably not be able to get away from work to go and too tired after work to stand in line. The machines are easy and very clear to read. I think of all the people that live in this country now that are not legal citizens and they cannot vote. What would happen in our elections if these people could vote? People say well it doesn't make any difference if I go and vote anyway. It does make a difference so I encourage anyone out there to please go and exercise your right as a citizen of this country and VOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | | |
| BUSY HALLOWEENWell we survived halloween started handing out candy about 5:40pm and at 6:50 we had to turn the light out ran out of candy. We counted 52 trick or treaters that came to our door. Four bags of candy gone. The little kids are so darn cute in their costumes. They have such a fun time but then on the other hand it's Satans holiday and not fit for anyone to be out with the people of darkness lurking. It's a pagan holiday and really not to be celebrated by bible believing christians. It's great that churches offer fall festivals to allow them to have fun as well and celebrate along with having fellowship with other believers. November is a month of Thanksgiving and we should really reflect on what God has done in our lives and how He helps us everyday and then take the time to really PRAISE HIM for his blessings that He has bestowed on us ever so graciously. Just the air we breathe is a starter. Think about the simple pleasures he allows us to enjoy. Have a great rest of the week everyone. | | |
