| Car Windows and MusicSo it's been a few weeks since my last update. Things have gone pretty well. I say pretty well because some things have not gone so great. The biggest thing was the loss of three of our favorite things...the rear window, passenger side window, and windshield of Elizabeth's Neon. Someone decided to take batting practice last Thursday evening. We then discovered that Hutchinson is a bigger ripoff than we first thought. It was going to cost over $200 more to replace the windows here than in Wichita. So we taped up the window and headed towards our "homes." It actually turned out to be a really good thing because we had a really, really great weekend with our families.
On the job front we are back to square one again. It really felt like this was going to be the time, but unfortunately it wasn't. The church in KC turned us down without much ado. Then the church in Maine finally got back to us with the normal no but with an added twist, they criticized my references. Needless to say, I was really taken aback by this one and have re-evaluated them and came to the conclusion that they are the people who know me best in the field for which I am applying. Then came a first...we turned down a church. It's amazing how you can wait for so long for that first yes, yet when it comes, it's so easy to say no. The job was a good job but I could not tie myself with a church that does not believe as I believe. Their doctrine as a whole was fine, but their bylaws were not.
It's really hard to believe what this month has brought and will be bringing. The Packers didn't make the super bowl. A really good actor dies. I turned down a job. We finally purchased the Wedding Singer. I finally cleaned off my desk. The end of the Wheel of Time saga is in sight (at least the first eleven books). Elaina turned another month older. And....
.....Elizabeth turns 24 (on January 30th)!!!

| ChristmasTonight I write this post as Elaina plays in or with her new toys and Elizabeth begins to work through one of her new piano books. What a blessing Christmas is... We were able to spend the morning and early afternoon with our families and then we made our way back home to have our family Christmas time. We read the Christmas story from Luke 2 while Elizabeth acted it out using Elaina's new Little People Nativity set she got from her Grandma. We then moved to opening our Christmas gifts. It is so exciting to have Elaina actually ripping the paper off, but she is so good about only doing it when you tell her that it's okay. Of course, we had to make sure that Elaina got all of her's first. The last thing she opened was her new Disney Princess tent and she has only come out once or twice since we set it up. So our plans are to enjoy some time just relaxing and then eat a Digorno pizza that we picked up before we left for the weekend. Then watch a Christmas movie, perhaps White Christmas, and then enjoy time in the glow of our Christmas tree.
I hope that everyone reading this has had a wonderful Christmas. Remember the reason for the season and have a wonderful new year. It's hard to believe that not only is my little girl a year and a half old now and that I have reached the ever so far off 25, but the new year is literally only a week away. I personally don't put a lot of stock in the changing of a new year and new year's resolutions, but at the same time it is a chance for starting afresh. Therefore, take joy in the relaxing end of this year, and I wish you the very best for the year to come.
Merry Christmas

| Finally a New PostWell, today marks the first day that I have updated this site in over eight months. I was just looking at my websites that have not been updated since before Elaina was born. Whoever says that a child does not change your life if absolutely crazy. So my personal goal is to take the time to actually learn what I am doing with Dreamweaver and update my website and the college and career (now known as Logizomai) websites before the end of January. Hmmm...let's see if this actually happens. So as you can tell from the date stamp, it is Christmas Eve. I am really excited about this Christmas for a very special reason, Elaina. She is offically 19 months old and is quickly gaining a grasp on the world. Hopefully, she can really get into opening presents in the morning. On top of all that, I think that I got Elizabeth some really great gifts, as well has my parents and sister. I'm still stuck at Office Max for those of you who actually use this site to keep up with what goes on in my life. However, I am guessing that not many of you do since I haven't updated this site in so long. Anyways, we are currently looking at Youth positions in Maine and Kansas City. We would love the one in KC because it is so close to family, allows me to still lead worship and work with college age students, and is full-time. However, the job in Maine sounds really great and has a really similiar mindset for ministry. I know that if we are suppose to get either job then God will let us know which one. We will just have to see if I keep this site up to date from now on, but I cannot promise that will happen. For all who read this have a Merry Christmas. | | |
