I saw The Arnolfini Marriage play last night at Fallen Eyes. They were unbelievably amazing! Usually, when I see a band that is way better than the one I am in at the time, I feel one of two ways: discouraged or inspired. When I saw these guys play, I didn't look at them as a musician. I was seeing them through the eyes of a fan. All I could think was, "Dang, these guys are STEAMING RAD!!" That is my new phrase, "...is/are steaming rad!!" When it is said, it will always be said as an exclamation of super joy (hence the two exclamation points, one just isn't enough). I would tell you to go check them out at whatever their website is, but I have been unable to find an existing website for the band. Oh well, if you hear that they are playing in your town, do your temporal and occipital lobes some good and check them out!

Sorry xanga, I've neglected you. But, I can't say that it won't happen again...cuz it probably will. I've been a little busy lately with my new job, keeping my old job (for now), playing in a band, planning bachelor parties, and running to and from the greater Cleveland area to obtain a functioning footswitch for my new, awesome 5150II head. That's right, any amp that's good enough for Eddie Van Halen is good enough for me. Now all I need is a triumphant video. That's my second Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure reference on here, maybe I should try and work one into every post. Or maybe just drop them randomly and see if anyone recognizes them. Whoever recognizes the most will get a special prize, but today's doesn't count...so don't even try getting away with it.

Hey, hey! Look at this, I'm updating without anyone having to tell me to update, what a rare occassion. To catch everyone up, I am still making very few lazy attempts to find a job and use this new degree in computer information systems. The band is going well. I like the group of guys that I play music with. They are a fun and talented bunch. I like the music as well, that Shane is an amazing song writer. We have a couple shows coming up: July 26 and August 6. They are both at Fallen Eyes and will be rockin' shows, so come out and support this up-and-coming venue with your hard earned bucks. The more people that go to shows at Fallen Eyes, the bigger the bands it will attract. So, if you want awesome shows practically right in your backyard (assuming your backyard is in Canton, Ohio), spend a measily 8 bucks and watch some crazy rock 'n' roll.

Okay, I'm done.

Random Question: What is your favorite Beatles song?

I think mine is "Come Together" because I love the lyrics and the music is rad and different for the Beatles. I like so many of their songs, but "Come Together" has a bit of an edge over the others, in my mind.

so, everyone hates when i'm lazy and don't update this thing, big surprise.

we had a show on Saturday. it was great fun. i think we played very well for it being our first show. we played with "The Change", who used to be "Sparechange00". the jeffrey allens played with them once back in the day. you wanna know what's even weirder than that, i worked today at grinder's and i waited on their lead singer. i think he recognized me because he had that look on his face like, "have i seen you somewhere before?" but neither of us said anything about it. oh well.

the great cornerstone festival begins in three days. it's gonna be rad. this will be my sixth year attending the fest, so i'd like to think i'm a seasoned veteran, but there are people that have been going there since it started like 25 years ago. that makes me feel like a rookie still. regardless, it's gonna rock.

next stop, Bushnell, Illinois! (the french pronounce it "ee-lee-nwah")

So, looks like it's time for me to post again. Here goes:

The new band has a name, "black the sky," which I'm happy with. We also just finished recording a five song demo. I think it's gonna be sweet. Let me tell you, that Nick Brewer kid is amazing. He is learning so much of this recording stuff so fast, it blows my mind. I think the demo will sound really good. The work he did on Shane and Amy's up-and-coming cd is also excellent. The music is fantastic as well. Keep one eye on those two, cuz I smell success.

I also got to see the ever elusive Chris McCreight of The Jeffrey Allens fame last night. He's been living down in the deep dirty souf of Hotlanta, Georgia. It was good to see him, he needs to come up here more often.
