More snow in the midwest...I love snow, but enough is enough!

Are any of you fans of the Mitford series?  I just found it this week on the recommendation of a friend.  Didn't start at the beginning, I started in on "New Song"  I love it!  Simple, sweet, every day stuff, reminds me of Anne Of Green Gables.  If you haven't read it, get it!  By Jan Karon.

  •   Feeling a little blue.....

My DS went to his first youth group retreat today.  This is the first time he has ever been away from home over night with anyone but family.   I thought I would share some of my early scrapbook pages with you tonight. In case you can't see, he decided to finger the paint the wall with my brown doll house paint while he was supposed to be napping.  All I could think of at the time was how glad I was it was only paint!!!

He watched me put on lipstick one day and decided that he wanted to try too.

Now he is taller than I am.  This is my DS right before Christmas.

I am proud of him, he is growing into a very stong person.  Praying that this weekend had a wonderful impact on him and his relationship with the Lord.

    A Random thought:

We had a beautiful sunrise this morning and I remembered how much I enjoyed walking to school in highschool because I got to see the sunrises.  Was pondering wy they Winter Sunrises and Sunsets are so spectacular and then I thought...it is because we can see them better, no interference from trees.  As much as I love leaves they get in the way....that made me think that we are like that.  When all of the stuff or fluff that fills our lives is pulled away other can either see the glory of the Lord in our lives or maybe instead they see something that resembles the smog over chicago instead.  I want to be filled with beauty for Jesus.

It is snowing here, warmer than it was over the weekend too.  It was bitterly cold out.

For those of you who prayed that all would go well with me singing in our praise band it did!  Thank  you so much.

Ruth67 (my sis) and I got to spend some time together scrapbooking with a gal who sells close to my heart products.  Really enjoyed the time I spent with them, I need to make time to be creative every day.

The kids got to spend time with their cousins and my DH got some sweet alone in the house time.

Berkley and Josie are having a blast together, will be hard on Berkley when she leaves at the end of this week.

     A bit more.....

School: is getting tough, always does this time of year.  Think we all have cabin fever or is it spring fever?

We are doing a unit study on the civil war, just watched gone with the wind as a spring board.

Children:  Becky is meeting with her counselor for the first time this afternoon.

DH: finished his pumpkin news letter and is working hard at his job.

Me:  I have been wanting to do SOMETHING, ANYTHING, creative...stamping....card making...scrapbooking....anything and to go for a walk in the woods in spring (but that isn't going to happen any time soon!)  I finally downloaded our pictures from this year!  I am so bad.....anyway here is one.

    Another quick update:

I spent the last two days in Wisconsin visiting a friend, drinking coffee, having tea, conversation, reading, relaxing and shopping.  It was awesome, but good to be home too.

  • Hello to you all!  Quick update here.

Me:  I am reading a book called "In Search of Secret Places".

This morning I am on my way to meet my walking buddy, we have been meeting almost every weekday morning for a little less than a year now.  We also pray together every morning.

I got sick right after the holidays and then school started up too, but we are in the swing of things again.

My DH:  He is working really hard on a giant pumpkin news letter for the Illinois giant pumpkin Association.  I even have an article in it.

School:  we are studying the civil war in a theme study, love doing themes!

Church:  I am going to be singing on the worship team for the first time next Sunday (please pray)  I love worshiping, and I don't want the fact that I am up in front to interfere with that.

Kids:  Nathaniel is loving youth Group, Rebekah is selling girl scout cookies
