Carried to the Table - Leeland

Leeland opened for Casting Crowns last Saturday and I enjoyed listening to them.  One thing that I loved about both bands was that they centered the evening around God.   It wasn't a concert it was a time for worship, not devoted to the artists but to the one that created them.

One song that Leeland Mooring wrote really struck me called "Carried to the Table".  Before he sung the song he talked to us about the meaning.  How we are lost and broken but when God calls us he will carry us to Him.  We are not able to do this on our own merits but we have to trust and let Him carry our weight.  For when we do come to this place where we don't deserve to be, He will give us everything that we need and we no longer will be broken nor lost.

He'll carry you.

Wounded and forsaken I was shattered by the fall
Broken and forgotten feeling lost and all alone
Summoned by the King into the Master’s courts
Lifted by the Savior and cradled in His arms

I was carried to the table seated where I don’t belong
Carried to the table swept away by His love
And I don’t see my brokenness anymore
When I’m seated at the table of the Lord
I’m carried to the table the table of the Lord

Fighting thoughts of fear and wondering why He called my name
Am I good enough to share this cup this world has left me lame
Even in my weakness the Savior called my name
In His Holy presence I’m healed and unashamed

You carried me, my God
You carried me

Here are some Santa-writing pointers:

Friday, November 24, 2006

Your EQ is 33
50 or less: Thanks for answering honestly. Now get yourself a shrink, quick!
51-70: When it comes to understanding human emotions, you'd have better luck understanding Chinese.
71-90: You've got more emotional intelligence than the average frat boy. Barely.
91-110: You're average. It's easy to predict how you'll react to things. But anyone could have guessed that.
111-130: You usually have it going on emotionally, but roadblocks tend to land you on your butt.
131-150: You are remarkable when it comes to relating with others. Only the biggest losers get under your skin.
150+: Two possibilities - you've either out "Dr. Phil-ed" Dr. Phil... or you're a dirty liar.
