HELP! We need song ideas for dramas

My wife and I are the drama directors for the North Texas Presbyterian youth convention, and we are looking for songs to do dramas to (human videos).  We can use christian or secular music.  We need at least one song for each session.  Please help us with ideas.  The convention theme is "Between the Trees" as in living between the tree of Genesis (knowledge of good and evil) and Revelation (life).  The session topics are:

Session1 - The Trees: The tree of knowledge of good and evil and the tree of life; how do we feel about the world; God's creation isn't perfect but it was created to be good

Session 2 - Hoping and...: We have to do more than hope and pray; God is at work in the world now; God has called us to b is agents to improve the world; doing the right thing isn't easy; God believe in us; how can we help God in taking care of the world?

Session 3 - Fingerprints: Recognize God's fingerprints on the world; recognize our fingerprints on the world; recognize God's fingerprints on us; we all have stories to tell and those stories matter; is it God's fingerprints on our world or our fingerprints on his world?

Session 4 - Followers of Jesus: we don't have to wait to be perfect to do God's work; celebrate God's fingerprints on us; celebrate our stories; do the choices yo make today shape the kind of person you will be for eternity; are the choices you make today shaping the world into the kind of place God wants it to be for eternity; do we ever really get to start over; call to discipleship

We had a great Christmas!

It's amazing what you learn about God when you have a child.

Family Christmas EveWe took Jackson to the Christmas eve service at church Sunday night.  We even went out and bought him a new outfit just for the event because it's not only supposed to be a formal service but also the biggest service of the year.  Granny let us take a nice long nap before church then we scurried around to get ready in time.  When I went to check on Wife, I was floored: she looked stunning.

The service consited of traditional carols, a short and sweet sermon, communion, and a rather charismatic-esque candle-lighting.  Jackson slept through most of it; Mom didn't even need to run out with him once.  We shifted baby-holding duty just before it was time to sing "The First Nowell" (oh, those Presbyterians and their crazy spellings).

While singing that song, I looked down and realized that Jackson was gazing up at me and holding onto my thumb.  Looking back down at him and singing to him, I was overwhelmed with how beautiful he is and how grateful I am for him.  What an amazing year.  God has really blessed me with a great family.

Then the awesome miracle of the incarnation dawned on me like never before.  The almighty God took on the imprisonments on humanity and the restrictions of infancy.  He went from being able to call worlds into existence to not even being able to speak.  No longer could he even walk, much less appear before his followers.  Someone had to feed him: the maker of all things.  He was dependent on a teen-age mother to swaddle and change him.

I caught myself choking back tears.  Then I began to realize for the first time how unbelievably hard it must have been for the Father to send his son knowing the end of the story.

No greater love...

  MERRY CHRISTMAS from the Fieldseses!!!

1st Christmas - Santa

Jack and Dad in mirror

I've been waiting for over three months for Jackson to fit into this green polo...

I just think this is a great picture.  We took him to the mall, and found that he is a man after his dad's own heart.  He loves the mall, and as evident in this picture, he also loves Dad' favorite store: Express (although I'm still bitter about the whole name change; it'll always be structure to me)

And finally, we recently started putting Jack in his big-boy crib.  Today I walked in after Jack woke up from his nap, and he was just laying there and looked at me like, "Hey Dad, what's up."  He wasn't fussy; he was just happy to be there so Mom suggested that we attach his toys to the crib.  We also turned on his Winnie the Pooh mobile.  I don't think he has ever been happier. He layed there and laughed and cooed and talked to his toys for the longest time.  Man, he's a cute kid!

Bah Turkey

Are there people that are anti-Thanksgiving?

People who oppose giving thanks?

Consciously promote bitterness and animosity?

I am not one of those people.  I have more to be thankful for this year than ever:

  • a wonderfully successful marriage to an amazing wife that I really don't deserve: my best friend and perfect match
  • a beautiful, sweet child
  • the job I've wanted for 6 years
  • the house we didn't think we would be able to get for years to come
  • a lost dog found wimpering on the other side of the fence five days after she ran away
  • the church that was just what we needed when we didn't think it existed
  • and friends

I've never been happier.  And I guess it shows.  We saw someone at Wal-Mart yesterday that I haven't seen in five years that said I've never looked happier.  I've also never been fatter, but I've heard that can also come with happiness.
