| Regret..., man.., i've screwed up so many times in the past..., bigtime..., and the worst part is that..., there's nothing i can do about the past. it's easy to dwell on past mistakes..., to allow those mistakes to consume me...
Job 27:6 (MSG)
I'm holding fast to my integrity and not loosening my grip--and, believe me, I'll never regret it.
"the best way to avoid a life of regret is now. look at what's ahead of you and keep making the right choices. In the face of temptation, keep making the right decisions."
| John 21:20-22.
Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved was following them. (This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, "Lord, who is going to betray you?") When Peter saw him, he asked, "Lord, what about him?"
Jesus answered, "If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me."
Dan, stop comparing yourself with others. If I bless others, what is that to you? Their blessings are not your lack of blessings. Don't measure your relationships by the relationships of others. Save yourself the time and stress. Pray for the ministry of others just as much as you pray for your own ministries.
Why do you use yourself as a measure when looking at others? What is that to you? You focus on following me.
| "Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path. The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away. The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful. But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown."
it's funny that everytime i hear this parable, i think i'm the good soil..., but the good soil is the "man who hears the word, understands, and and produces a crop."
am i really bearing fruit? because it seems like i'm always consumed about the things of this world, the worries of life - assignments, midterms, finals, applications, future. do i even make time to hear from the word and pray for understanding of it?
