I guess it's time to post... bowling?

So what do I post about...

Let's start with bowling... So far, I've sucked it up in the league.  5 Years ago, a 500 series was a given.  I'd get it every week.  Now, I haven't gotten one yet after four weeks.  But the good news is, I'm improving.  Then first week, I bowled a 435, then the following a 445.  Last week I bowled a 487 and last night I bowled 495.  You may be asking, what is a series in bowling?  It's the total score of the 3 games you play.  Now you know more about recreational league bowling.

Anyway, my practice average has been much higher than my league average.  After last night, here's what they are:

League: 155

Practice: 162

As many of you know, I love to keep stats.  I have a whole spreadsheet for my bowling.  Here's my overall stats:

BACK TO SCHOO!!!! and still working...

I'm so glad school is here again.  I'm ready to hit those books and cramp my brain with information, well.... almost.  So far, I'm taking 15 hours, 2 english, 2 linguistics and 1 education classes.  There's a possibility I might add one, but unlikely.

Today I had my first class, it was an English class about Young Adult Novels.  There's going to be a great deal of reading for me to do.  The bad thing is, I have not read most of the books in the list our professor gave us.  The good thing is, I'll get to read many books that I missed out on.  Hopefully, I'll be disciplined and read read and read.

Unfortunately though, and fortunately at the same time.  I was able to work my schedule so that I can still work about 25 to 30 hours a week.  All my classes are either in the morning before work, or in the evening after work.  And of course, I have a Saturday class.  So this is going to be one busy Fall.

Finally, I'm contemplating coming out of retirement.  WHAT?! Retirement????  Yes, you heard me.  Back in 2003, I decided to retire since I started helping out with CCFC's youth group.  Now that I'm free, or freer on Friday nights, and since I miss the competition, I'm mostly likely going to join again.  So you people still don't know what I'm talking about, here's a clue.  I have a pair of shoes specific for this, and a 16 pound ball.  Still no clue?  For those of you who guessed it, good job, it's BOWLING.  But I don't want to bowl every week.  I'll probably do it for 2 or 3 weeks a month.  But not for sure yet.

A XANGA POST!??!

Posting on Xanga - what used to be every week for me is now once a month.  And quite honestly, I don't have much to say.  Let's see where my brain goes.  I will type away...

I like Lee Strobel's writing.  Currently reading "A Case for a Creator".

CCUC Labor Day Tourney - watch out AAIV!!!  REMATCH!!!

Basketball practices - our team is actually practicing this year.... my plays that has lingered in my head are becoming a reality!!!

I hate flies and mosquitoes.  I thought this was AMERICA!!!

Time to read and sleep.  Later dudez.

Wedding...

My cousin is getting married in a week!  I feel like I'm not ready.  It will be weird seeing her getting married.  I'll have to check if my suit fits me still, if not, I gotta get one.  I also gotta get a better pair of shoes.  Something cheap and nice looking (since I'll use it mostly in weddings and such).

Did I mention Kirk Hinrich is getting married today?  For some reason, I thought I saw him on the street this morning in a suit, but what would he be doing alone in the middle of the road (the guy was on a median)?  So, I must be mistaken.  Besides, the dude didn't look as tall as 6'3".  It can't be him.

My neverending fix my room up

So, about a month ago... or maybe it was a month and a half ago...  I decided to make a MAJOR change to my room (it's not really a room).  For those who don't know, I make minor changes to my room.  I move a desk here, and a bookshelf there, etc.  BUT THIS WAS A MAJOR CHANGE!!! Tonight, I finished PHASE TWO of this major change.  Let me explain since I know my devoted xanga readers ~AHEM none AHEM ~ can't wait to read what I did.

PHASE ONE:

I moved my entire room to another side of the basement.  Yes, that means I had to take all of my stuff and move it to another place.  The hard part of this is... that other side of the basement was filled with all kinds of boxes with crap, plastic bags with crap, garbage bags with crap and storage bins also full with crap.  Thanks to my cousin, who is my basementmate, we were able to do all the moving in one day.  But it did fill up my whole Saturday.  My cousin only helped out for 3 hours (which is BIG HELP!!!)  Anyway, after that, I decided to just dump some stuff to the side temporarily (which lasted until now) and just make sure I had the big 4 neatly in place.  The bed so I can sleep, my closet so that I have something to wear, my computer so I can bore you people online, and my bed or I'd be sleeping on top of all those stuff.

PHASE TWO:

I had to move aside my stuff (the ones I just dumped aside) and arrange the furniture the way I wanted to.  Thinking about how/where I want my stuff takes me half the time....  Anyway, so now I a specific place to put my shoes and slipper, my laundry basket and the basic outline of what I want in my room is in place.

PHASE THREE:

Put all my little stuff in order, get rid and shred old mail and unwanted cds, put up my dry erase board, vacuum and waaalaaaa... I'm done.  My goal is to finish this by Thursday night, the same night I have to pack for the retreat.

CHURCH RETREAT:

It's weird to say, I only went to one FULL retreat when I was at CCFC.  This weekend, I'm going to ETC's retreat, my first as a member (became officially one this past Sunday).  I must say, I'm excited.  I'd like to get to know other folks from church better outside of my small group.  And we have Pastor Moy as our guest speaker.  Ironically he's currently at CCFC.  Alrite, time to go to bed.  I'm sleeping late tonight because I slept at 8pm last night, straight to the morning.  Work stress, what else can I say.
