24 Books in 12 Months

Does anyone really even read xanga anymore?

Well, I thought I'd post here anyway.

Thanks to the Office of Letters and Light's declaration that 2007 is The Year of Doing Big, Fun, Scary Things Together,  I've decided to attempt to read 24 books in one year.  Now, this may not seem like a great feat to many people, but it is for me.  It usually takes me a couple of months to get through a book because I rarely have find time to read.  I spend way too much time doing nothing on the computer when I could be doing something more astute, like reading, which I love to do.  So, here's my list of books so far:

1. Gilead (finished)
2. Marie Antoinette: The Journey (currently reading)
3. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
4. Julie & Julia
5. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
6. Pride & Prejudice
7. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
8.
9. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
10.
11. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
12.
13.  Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
14.
15. The Fellowship of the Ring
16.
17. The Two Towers
18.
19. Return of the King
20.
21.
22.
23.
24.

As you can see, I have a number of blank spots that I need to fill.  I know I can walk into Borders and find a number of books I would like to read, but I also would like recommendations.  So, if you know of a book that I must absolutely read, feel free to suggest it.  Thanks in advance.

A New Addition to Our Family

Meet Rikku (say "Ree-koo") Schmikku Windy Hurst:

She and Lilo, after a somewhat rocky start, have now become good friends.  Lilo is a very good big sister.

FYI, I have posted Halloween pictures (including LiloBurrito) on my facebook.  If you don't have a facebook, go get one.  It's way cooler than myspace.
