| | we goin to Sizzzzzla, we going to Sizzzzzla. was in LA last week from weds-sun (for work and then relax), we came THIS close to eating at a Sizzler. we were actually pretty pumped at the idea of it. nostalgic thoughts of childhood when eating out was sizzler, red lobster, or old country buffet. totally forgot that you had to walk to the front counter to order and pay. they had the huge display board on the wall, and each entree had it's own picture and they were tiled off in squares - totally 80s style. the pictures were quite depressing, the people in there were kinda depressing. i feel bad for being a snob. but yeah, it was almost our turn to order, we came to our senses and got the hell out of there before it was too late. we ran out laughing. so for my trip, the meals i had in order included: weds dinner: Magnolia (trendy comfort food place in hollywood), thurs lunch: Lucky City (awesome chinese food in Monterrey Park), thurs dinner: Siam (really good Thai place in Inglewood/Manchester), Fri lunch: The Perfect Bird (or something like that, near the airport - it was a buffet that had friggin King Crab Legs!), Fri dinner: Sheek Du Rak (best chadul ever, they actually had a power outage, but still remained open. it was dinner by candlelight with less crowds than usual), sat lunch: Ding Tai Phung (only the best dam soup dumplings ever!), sat dinner: walked into Sizzler, walked out, and ate at El Torito (it was aite, not the best mexican food ive ever had for sure), sun lunch: Mama D's (italian restaurant on Manhattan Beach). |
