My snowboarding trip!

Just got back from one of the most beautiful places on God's green (I mean white) earth!

Summary of 2007

I was looking through a bunch of pics the other day and was overcome with guilt for never posting them.  Okay, so it wasn't guilt, it was lack of time and inclination.  So here goes....very random pics of '07.

Sitting_or_Standing

This was my life picture of '07.  It was taken in Dallas right beside the place where Kennedy was shot.

Since I moved home from HQ, I've have the pleasure of grand outdoor activities!

Sometimes we have really crazy stroms.  This one produced a doulble rainbow that went across the entire sky.  I was bummed that I couldn't figure out how to take a picture of the whole thing.

07

This was one of the greatest camping trips ever!  This was about the halfway point for our long hike.  It's a grand view from the top!

We went to the biggest rodeo in Nebraska.  I saw my excuse to dress up as a cow girl and took it.  Okay, so it was just that hat.  I didn't want to wear my boots and long sleeve western shirt for fear that I would burn up.  As it so happened, it was cold and rainy.  Grrrr....grrr....

In August, a whole crowd of us headed down to SC for a funeral of a dear friend.  Much to our glee, we were able to visit Mayberry on the way home!  Here's Andy and Barney!

Anna and I were unfairly locked behind bars.

Barney let me drive!!!

IMG_1489

We were delighted to find that the Institute started putting their signs right on the interstate!!

IMG_1513

Buck and Miriam moved to town in July. (YAY) This is their house when they first got it.

IMG_1536

Craig and Esther followed their example and came in October.  (YAY)  This is the house they bought.

IMG_1596

In October, one of the coolest people ever up and got married!  Congratulations, Mel!!  Fun times, awesome people, amazing wedding...

IMG_1728

In November, I flew up to Washington, was picked up and taken to Idaho, after which I drove a beautiful truck all the way back to Nebraska.  That was over 1300 miles in a day and a half...I LOVE driving!

IMG_1740

This fall was the most seasonable and beautiful one that I have seen in many years.  One Sunday afternoon, we raked all of the leaves into a pile and the kids dove in.  Gotta love how leaves stick in ones hair...

IMG_1769

My dog learned the new trick of riding in the wheel barrow.  Anytime I would be using it to pick up leaves, he would jump right up on the top of the pile!

Caio!

Faithful One

This song has been a favorite of mine for the past few months.  I especially like the last few lines.  The attitude is one of surrender, honor and gratitude.  Praise the Lord for all He has done!

And when the day is dawned and when the race is run
I will bow down before God’s only Son
And I will lift my hands in praise for all you’ve done
And I will worship you, my faithful one.

More things to do in Nebraska...

#3: Commit rampant fashion faux pas.

Ah....how nice it is to go to work wearing a brown belt with a black shirt, and blue and pink striped socks with my gray and orange Nikes.  And you know what?  No one even cares!

#4: Play with the dog!

Chester is hepling me with my batting practise.  I'm afraid his nose dictates how good of an outfielder he is.  It's so annoying when he stops and sniffs things when he's supposed to be bringing the ball back.  Tsk tsk.

#5  Go ride some more!!!

IMG_0876 cropped IMG_0878

Once upon a time, I had enough nerve to go over the big jump...but I made the mistake of going into the house to get a drink first.  Needless to say, in that amount of time, I lost my nerve.

#6:  Spend time with the world's coolest family.  (Mine, of course.)

IMG_11422 IMG_1103 IMG_1066 IMG_1050 IMG_1069

It's a shame that I can't share the best of my pics.  I'm afraid that I might be injured if I posted them on the web, though.

Remember October 10, 2004

101 Things to do in Nebraska Cont.

Does anyone else remember that fateful day? 100's of us headed down to the bustling city of Chicago to take part in a large celebration.  We were well identified as being a "group" as we all were able to procure red scarfs to wear about our necks.  Hence the name, "nedneck day."  As a favor to all of you who still have these scarfs in your closets, I thought to give you a few suggestions of new ways to model them.  On redneck day, you only had one choice, but now...you can wear it anyway you want!

IMG_0790 cropped IMG_0853

Wear it like a headband!!  Or, hey, why not the Indian look?  (Sorry, I didn't have a feather.)

IMG_0791 cropped

A belt!!

IMG_0796 cropped

Or the Buster Keaton look.

IMG_0792

The look I use most often.  (Not.)

But the winning look definitely has to belong to Chester!!  Don't you all wish we looked that good on redneck day?
