Country music fans, we have lost another Country Music Hall of Famer. Mr. Eddy Arnold. He passed away ths morning at 5 a.m. in Nashville. He died just 1 week short of his 90th birthday. He lost his wife back in March. His hits included "Cattle Call", "What's He Doing in My World?", and "Make the World Go Away". eddyarnold

  • Where did I go?

I cannot believe I have'nt been on here for alost a whole month! What have I missed?  And the titled question. Where did I go? I have been busy with music and school. Let me tell you what I have done. On Wednesday April 16th, we went to Fishersville, Va. to get me a new bass. I picked out a 1988 Englehardt. On Friday April 18th, we went to the Roanoke Rapids Theatre to see the Oak Ridge Boys. We picked with tenor singer of the group, Joe Bonsall for an hour and a half backstage in his dressing room. We recorded it on tape and we played gospel and bluegrass. We had a blast! We also met another member of the group, William Lee Golden. Then the next day, was my parents anniversary, and we celebrated by playing at a Pig Pickin'. Th next day, we practiced with the Groovers and that night, we went out to eat for my grandfathers' birthday. Last week, we went down to Myrtle Beach from Thursday - Saturday for a Bible study with the youth at our church. Oh, get this. When we we first arrived to the trailer, we headed straight for the beach and we walked for about 30 minutes. So that's about it. Here is the picture of us with Joe Bonsall and William Lee Golden.100_4481 100_4485

  • The 2008 Elections

The 2008 Presidential Elections are getting near, and this is something that needs to be given sincere thought and prayer. We have Democratic hopefuls Barrack Obama, Hillary Clinton, a Republican hopeful John McCain. From what I read and hear, John McCain is the best choice for President. The elections are only 7 short months away, so once again, pray for the right leader of our country.

  • My Easter

How did everyone like their Easter? I hope everyone's went well. Ours' did. On Sunday morning, we went to a Sunrise service at our church, then we had Sunday school and church. Following the Sunrise service, we had breakfast in the Fellowship Hall.  My brothers' and I are in the youth, and we had an Easter skit that morning during the church service, and I had the easy job. I was the narrator. Then we came home, got dressed and went to my grandparents' house for lunch and I'm telling you, the food was delicious. After that, we headed to the Ruritan club and to set up for the Monday Night Music. Then, we came home and took it easy. That ended our Easter.

I'm sure you all have a dream. My dream is that one day, our band, the Bethesda Bluegrass Boys can perform on the Grand Ole Opry stage. That would be such an honor.
