Some people are so... not with the program.

So I went to the orientation for my job today. The "paperwork lady" had to collect my i.d, health card, ss, Tuberculosis card, CPR card... and all that other good stuff, so that she could make copies of it. She comes back to me and says 'Holly, I'm going to have to see your green card, do you have that on you?'. I looked at her for a second, kind of befuddled. Then she goes 'you know your alien card?'. I laughed a bit sarcastically and said 'well, why would I need one?'. She replies 'Well your i.d shows that you're from Hawaii, so you'll need to have that to verify that you're eligible to work in the United States'. I laughed again and said 'Did you know that Hawaii is the 50th United State? I was born there, therefore I believe that makes me a US citizen mam'. So I thought this conversation would be over, but NOPE this woman strikes again... 'Oh no I don't think Hawaii is part of the US is it? Isn't it in another country or something?' Another country or something?!!?! I thought she was joking, but she really wasn't. I was getting a bit frustrated by then, so I pull out my history 'If I'm not mistaken, In 1959 President Eisenhower enabled Hawaii to become the 50th United State of America'.
OMG... This Lady is not done yet... she had to go and ask another lady 'Hey is Hawaii part of the US?' and the other lady goes 'Duhhh!'. Then she comes back to me and tries to play it off like she knew it all along 'Oh yeah, you were born in Hawaii, hahaha yeah I get it, nevermind'.

OH Mah Gadd... I can take the "everyone from Hawaii is Hawaiian" error. But Hawaii not part of the US? Come on now! That one is kind of a Biggie.

Something to laugh about I guess...
I am semi glad I paid attention in History class though.

Rest in Peace Kirby...

We miss you so much.

Not much has changed since last entry, despite the fact that I am back from Hawaii.

Went to see the lake house. It was good, however it took me a while to get it. I'm going to give it an 8 out of 10.

I'm so tired, perhaps this can continue tomorrow.
