Ughh. So last week I went to the bi-annual dentist visit. Now, I have this one wisdom tooth that is showing, but the other three aren't. At least one of them is coming in at an angle. Anyway, that one tooth has been showing for several months, maybe a year or more now. So the dentist tells me I should think about getting them taken out soon. I get home and tell my mom and she says I should get them out before the end of the year so the insurance benefits will cover most of the surgery. I was thinking end of the spring semester. Wrong! So next Friday (22nd), I'm getting all four wisdom teeth removed. Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas. Geez. Why couldn't have been after Christmas???? Grr. At least the guy doing the removal is a nice guy. Well, the trip to Dallas was interesting. We rented a Yukon (behemoth vehicle) and drove up there. My mom and me, my brother and two of his friends. Trying to get around Texas Stadium is an ordeal. The traffic is horrible and they don't have it laid out very well. It takes forever to get out or in. Saturday my mom and I hung around while the boys went to a HS playoff game there, and then Sunday my mom and the boys went to the Cowboys game while I stayed at the hotel watching Titanic, then the game, ordering mediocre room service, and just sitting around. They got back from the game about 11:30 or so, and we left. We got home about 4 in the morning. As soon as we got home I went to bed. But a funny thing before we left. Apparently, after the boys and my mom got back from the game, they saw some guy come into the lobby pouring sweat and carrying a duffle bag. One of the guys was saying he thought the guy was on crack or something, because it was a cool night. As we were leaving, we saw three cop cars pull up and they went inside. We drove past the front door and saw that guy talking to the cops! Loser. My mom also said the hallway our room was in smelled like pot before they left. It wasn't a seedy motel, but geez. That's about it, I think. Things can finally start returning to normal after weekends of football games. And the schools are out for winter break. ~kelli |
