| Today I found a letter from an ex of mine. I believe he'd written this letter to me sometime in January 2005. It's a good sized letter. About a page, times new roman 12 font. All that stuff.
It was tucked away into a purse I was getting rid of. One that I have had for oh four or so years.
It was interesting to read that. At first I thought it was a letter that he had given me before I left to come here, but no, it was older than that. I think I got rid of that one, but I guess I saved this one for some reason. Perhaps because I was coming here, i tucked it into a pocket and forgot about it.
Yes, I admit it. I'm a pack rat. I save things. Especially things of sentimental value. Then, towards the end of the year I do a mass purge. And still manage to save things. It's a chronic disease.
Anyway, that letter. Talk about a blast from the past.
What did I do of it? I sat down and read the whole thing. Then I ripped it in halves and quarters and eighths and sixteenths. And now it's in the trash. Where it should be. And if i should find any such thing from any other ex, the trash is where it's headed after I read it.
Because if I don't throw it out now, I will the next time I see it.
EDIT - when it rains, it pours. I also ripped to shreds a valentine's day card and two more letters. i also gave away something that my suite mate admired. *sigh* i'd have thrown it away anyway.....
