    No I'm not color blind
I know the world is black and white
Try to keep an open mind; I just can't sleep on this tonight
Stop this train I want to get out and go home again
I can't take the speed it's moving in
    I know I can
But honestly will someone stop this train

Don't know how else to say it, don't want to see my parents go
    One generation's length away
From fighting life out on my own
    Come on stop this train
I want to get off and go home again
I can't take the speed it's moving in
I know I can but honestly won't someone stop this train

    So afraid of getting older
I'm only good at being young
So I play the numbers game to find away to say that life has just begun
Had a talk with my old man
    Said help me understand
He said turn 68, you'll renegotiate
    Don't stop this train
Don't for a minute change the place you're in
    Don't think I couldn't ever understand
    I tried my hand
John, honestly we'll never stop this train

See once in a while when it's good
    It'll feel like it should
    When you're all still around
And you're still safe and sound
And you don't miss a thing so you cry when you're driving away in the dark.

Singing stop this train I want to get out and go home again
I can't take this speed it's moving in
    I know I can
Cause now I see I'll never stop this train

SF and Lake Tahoe were nice. finally got to try in-n-out for the first time.. the sights were beautiful.. snow was amazing.. and i even won some money on the slots. all in all, a good vacation. i can post some pictures, but i don't think they do justice. you just have to experience it for yourself if you've never been there.

i can really get used to the west coast way of life. the driving on the other hand... i think i might have to make this an annual trip. we'll see..

  • 1 mph

1 mph.. that's the speed i traveled on northern blvd today on a stretch of road a little more than a mile (b/w searingtown road and shelter rock). the one day my dad asks me to do a favor for him and pick mom from work, a snow storm comes and tests my patience. being hungry, tired, and sick surely didn't help the cause..

because i took so long, my mom actually wound up walking and meeting me at the tgi friday's near by. she of course got there first. when i eventually got there, i was not a happy camper. we just ate there to pass the traffic.  these rich housewives that can't drive for ddong really need to get off the damn roads.  so infuriating.

i saw so many cars crawling at a snail's pace, leaving a ton of space between them and the car ahead, when they can drive a bit faster.  i saw an suv stopped on a hill--that awd system is pretty useless with summer tires in the snow.

i seriously would pay a good deal of money for them to make obtaining a driver's license harder so we can weed out all these incompetent drivers. just b/c u can obey traffic signs doesn't mean u can drive nor have common sense. they need to have proper instructional driving for everyone. this would make it safer for all, and be able to maintain higher speeds even in traffic. one can dream..

  • like most people who go to the gym, or pretend they do.. i hate working out my legs.  you can  get by for the most part if your upper body is sore, but not so much when your legs are.  after a good workout, you can barely walk straight.. and even though walking is usually at a minimum living in suburbia, walking up & down the stairs can become quite a challenge in the successive days.  still, if  these were the only excuses, i think i'd make more of an effort to regularly work in legs to my weekly regiment. my real excuse is because i want to be able to drive home.

due to a minor (i hope) transmission problem on dre (my altima), i've been driving ellie (new civic) around the past few days. although my preference is still driving a manual, i gotta say automatics do have their advantages.  aside from the obvious ease in traffic and stop/go on big hills, returning from the gym or after all-day softball tournaments  are a big plus.  you see, dre can be a bit difficult at times.  with a heavy clutch and a tricky engagement point, it takes a bit of focus and control to drive smoothly when my legs are normal.  with legs that feel like jello, it's like learning to drive stick for the first time all over again. even still, i'll take stick over auto anyday.
