Receiving healing

I just came from a women's ministry luncheon thing--it was entitled The Confident Woman.  A friend of mine joined a new church and wanted me to come along. I'm very glad I went.

It's good, I think, to experience different churches and how their church culture sees things.  I love how beautifully we are all made to come together despite our differences!

Today a phrase I heard a lot was "received that."  As in "the doctor told my daughter she would not be well for a month, but we chose to not receive that--and she got well in two weeks."

There was a lot of discussion about women's emotional lives in today's culture, and I realized that most of the women I know--sadly--do not receive love.  They may be given it but they do not receive it.  They also do not receive healing, hope, or trust.

Trust is a huge one.

Not being trusted, and not trusting others, is a very common path.  The Lord has shown me that failure to trust and trust in others will lead you to a narrow life, into a smaller and smaller "comfort zone."  Instead of doing great things in your life--pouring out blessings upon everyone you meet--you will only fall further & further into hurtful practices, when you fail to love and trust.

Following Love as your God requires you to walk face-first into the wind, against the flow of the world around you.

Receive Love.  Receive Trust.  Receive Healing.

The "T" word is a huge issue, alright.  I sometimes wonder if it seems to be more of a problem with women because we are taught to be "cautious" - may be to a fault.  Of course, there are all kinds of other reasons, as well.

Both confidence and trust can be hard to come by.
