You and my daughter must be on the same brain wave. We had to watch the sequel and then the first and then the sequel again because we got confused about Marcus since there was a lot of time between the two release dates. Plus with Twilight coming out soon, vampire moods abound!

You MUST have a nanny. Or kids who always do exactly what you say. I think I didn't watch an adult movie until Thing Two was eight. Mine had to be watched constantly. They weren't bad - just incredibly curious and wanted to be with us every waking moment. I don't think we could have had time to get pregnant even without birth control. The window of sleep was too small. We'd rather sleep for the three hours we had.

Now, of course, I can't get them to even tell me what they're reading much less spend time with me.

Congrats on the "good kids."

Actually, I watched vampire/werewolf/frankenstein movies w/ my mom when I was a kid, and I don't really see a problem w/ my kids watching them with me. They have also seen all the Harry Potter movies (which are actually a lot scarier than Underworld), as well as the Matrix movies (some of them). What I take objection to are movies with a lot of brutal blood and guts, cold-blooded killing. My kids are very good about leaving the room or closing their eyes when they are told, and we also use the "fast forward" button liberally if we decide something coming up is going to be too scary or gross.

We pretty much do everything together, and, honestly, I prefer being able to discuss what is real, vs. what is fantasy with my kids, instead of having them traumatized by somethings that are supposed to be entertainment.

If a movie is not going to be entertaining, only depressing or I think it will be harmful to them, I turn it off. My oldest is pretty good about saying "this is going to be a bad movie, Mommy, let's turn this one off." :D I am proud of him.
