| Ok, I need to specify that the only reason I'm doing this is because 1) Yating tagged me, and yes, I do read your Xanga , and I miss seeing you from time to time ,
and 2) Wes has bugged me at least three times in the last 2 weeks to
update this thing. So Yating and Wes, this one's for you (two)!
Post your start time. Write down 20 random facts about yourself. Post
your end time. Tag one person per minute.
11:32 pm
1) I haven't updated this site for almost a year now because I figure
the people who are interested in knowing what's up with me talk to me
already and I talk with them.
2) I signed up for this Xanga a LONG time ago because I wanted to keep
up with the kids in my youth group and so many of them have this and I
wanted to subscribe to each of them and then I realized that if I did,
emails would just be sent to me magically with everyone's update and
that was just the easiest thing in the world!
3) I'm a night owl. I look at the clock and see 11:34 pm and
think to myself that I've still got another 2-3 hours left in my day.
4) I'm going to 2 weddings on consecutive weekends in November.
5) One of them is my high school friend, NTK #9, and the other was a college friend.
6) This college friend of mine said something to me that I still find very profound.
7) He said, "Enjoy the time you have in college with your college
fellowship. 'Cause this will be the only time in your life that
there will be this many people going through the same things at the
same time."
8) Boy, that was a smart guy...
9) He's a youth pastor too, in So. Cal.
10) I really enjoy doing what I do for a living, although sometimes it can get pretty stressful.
11) I seem to have developed the reputation for being very busy.
And while a lot of the time this is true, I always have time for
people...
12) I hope the kids in my youth group know how much I think of them.
13) I hope the kids in my old youth group know how proud of them I am.
14) I still play volleyball once a week, and I drive 60 minutes to do so. That's how much I enjoy the game.
15) I can somewhat proudly brag that I was the only sophomore on my
varsity volleyball team. That means I played varsity volleyball
for 3 years. And I was the captain my senior year.
16) Our volleyball team was no good. Hehe...
17) I thought about getting a letterman's jacket, but my friends who
were on the varsity tennis team counselled me, "Who gets a letterman's
jacket for volleyball? Or tennis, for that matter??" They
were right.
18) I wish my wife could have known me in those days. Would've
been kind of fun if she knew me back then because I guess in the eyes
of the world I was fairly successful. This is my male ego talking.
19) I love her very much. We're celebrating 2 years coming up next week.
20) While I love to live in the Bay Area, the one thing I hate about it
is the fact that I'm so far away from the rest of my family, especially
my 2 nephews. The older one is turning 6 and the younger one just
turned 3. I talk about them all of the time because I think about
them all of the time. I'm a stinky uncle because not once have I
been able to make it down to LA for their birthday parties. I
always get an invitation, but I always have to turn it down. One
day, boys... One day I'll teach you that jump shot that you've
always wanted to learn.
11:43 pm
Must be the fact that age has set in. Took me 11 minutes to
finish this thing! Yikes! Well, since I don't really want
to tag anyone and since I haven't updated in SO long and since Cindy is
asleep on the couch next to me, I'll do 10 more.
21) There is a chance, and it's a pretty good chance, that by the end of this week, I'll have some pretty big news to announce.
22) And it has NOTHING to do with a baby. Guaranteed!
23) I can't wait to be a dad. I love kids. I'll admit
it. But, the thought that there will be a little one that will
depend completely on me for everything is a scary thought.
24) I also hope that my kid doesn't turn out bad and all... I see
how much stress kids can bring to their parents (being that it's part
of my job and all) and it freaks me out to think that maybe, just
maybe, my kid will stress me out in the same way. Let's be
praying for Eddie Jr. now ok, folks??
25) One of the greatest parts about my job is the fact that I get to
see young people grow up. Now, granted, I have only been at this
for 8 years, which means that I've only seen a few grow up, but boy,
it's fun. And although none of them are youth pastors themselves,
so many of them are serving, loving the Lord, and committed to
Him. It's a very gratifying feeling.
26) And they're all just good people too. Yating, your dad tells
me your love it out there, and judging by your Xanga, it seems like you
have adjusted perfectly. If California is indeed a home for you,
don't forget to pay us a visit from time to time, ok?
27) I was depressed for a good half hour last night, and I mean real
depression (no talking, long face) after I found out that Cal was beat
by UCLA. And to top it off, although I recorded the game, I
accidentally didn't record enough of the game so that my recording
ended with 9 minutes left in the 4th quarter and Cal up. I had to
find out from the internet that my Bears lost. Man, what a
stinker!
28) Cindy just woke up and went to sleep for the night. She's
funny. She tries to stay up with me when she doesn't have to work
(tomorrow is Columbus Day and it's a holiday for her company) but she
has nothing of the stamina that I have. And I even woke up before
her this morning!
29) I'm at a loss for words. And if you know me at all, you know that that doesn't happen very often.
30) How precious are your thoughts OF ME, O God? How vast is the
sum of them? Psalm 139:17. I preached on this psalm this
morning.
Ok, I am officially done. I would like to think that for all fans
of this Xanga, all 2 of you, this will suffice for another year. Take care, and good night.

| OK, finally!! Thanks to help from Jonathan Lin, I think I finally have a way to post pictures on my Xanga! Thanks also to Ricky for suggesting tinypic.com. I saw that earlier and I think they really shrink the images.
Anyway, here's what I was trying to post a few days ago. This is me and my friends, Eric, Steve, and Rocky Biddle (who pitches in the Major Leagues):
And this is me and my little nephew. He's the best! He's a big Golden Bears fan, which I could prove if I could put video on my Xanga. Until then, you'll just have to believe me.

| Ok, I give up. I got so many remarks from people that my pictures don't work, prompting me to do some investigating. Turns out that Yahoo photos apparently doesn't allow image hosting. So, that led me to see what website most people use for image hosting. You know what it is?
Photobucket.com
Problem is that when I go to photobucket.com to try and register for a site, they tell me that they no longer accept applications for free image hosting. But I don't want to pay for this!!
So another friend suggests omnilect.com, or something like that. Problem with that is that it's basically a free web page, but you need to know how to program such things, which I don't.
Which puts me right back to square one. Can anyone help me? Does anyone know of a website where I can get free image hosting, similar to photobucket.com, and just as easy to use? I would love to start putting up pictures, but I'm at a loss as to how.
| How about time for an update, hm?
I went down to Los Angeles last weekend for my 10 year high school reunion. Boy, time flies!!! Anyway, it wasn't the greatest time, but it was definitely nice seeing some people again. Some people I knew would be really successful in life are! And some people who I wasn't so sure about are too! That's the cool part.
One person who I've talked about occasionally over the last couple of years is a guy named Rocky Biddle. I found out about 3 years ago while watching Sportscenter that he pitches in the Major Leagues! At the time he was pitching for the Chicago White Sox, but then he got traded to the Montreal Expos. 2003 was probably his best year so far because he had a bunch of saves and was in the top 7 or 8 closers in the NL that year. Last year wasn't so good for him. Got kind of demoted in the bullpen and then just didn't pitch as well overall. But, it was cool seeing him again because we haven't seen each other since graduation.
Here's a picture of me, Rocky, Steve, and Eric
(Man, that took me a long time to get that picture up. Had to read the Help and everything. I'm still new at this.)
The next day, Sunday, Cindy and I spend a lot of time with my second nephew, Brandon. He's the younger of my two nephews.
This is Brandon and his shao joe joe (little uncle - that's me )
We also spent some time brainwash...er, I mean, helping him understand how wonderful an institution Cal is. I have some video that I would LOVE to put up, but I don't know how. It's an .avi file. Can anyone help me with that?
| Ok, I suppose you can now add my name to the hundreds and thousands of people who have ever updated a weblog. I can officially say I'm in the 21st century now.
This is to all those who've ever seen my site and commented somehow that I should update this baby every so often. So, basically, Daewu, this is for you.
I have nothing profound to say, no song lyrics to post, no poem to quote, no stats or pictures of NBA stars to put up... I guess partly because I feel like when it comes to the people I care about, I try hard to be as transparent to them as I can *when* I'm with them, so that I don't necessarily have to add anything when I'm away. That's my only beef with this whole weblog world, (and instant messaging) that people can basically maintain relationships with others without having to deal with things like eye contact, body gestures, voice inflection, etc. But, anyway...
What am I thinking about right now? Well, nothing that I haven't talked about already. I'm looking forward to going home to LA this weekend. Haven't been home since last summer, which is a really long time for me. I used to go home at least once every few months, but now that I'm working full time, it's a lot harder to take weekends off to visit my family. My sister and brother I can live with only visiting once in a while, but it's my nephews that I miss. I hate it (I really do) that they don't know me. I hate it that they don't get excited when their "little uncle" comes to visit. Why should they? I don't come around often enough for them to remember. Oh well, hopefully a weekend of "brainwashing," as I call it, will help solve the problem.
Ok, Daewu, you approve of my post? Are we cool for a while?
