Currently Listening
The Darjeeling Limited
By Original Soundtrack
see related

Been listening this song ten times a day.  Suddenly realise that it is depicting the same sort of mood as in "Breakfast at Tiffany's" (the novella by Truman Capote, not the movie (different endings)).

Where do you go to (my lovely) - by Peter Sarstedt

You talk like Marlene Dietrich

And you dance like Zizi Jeanmaire

Your clothes are all made by Balmain

And there's diamonds and pearls in your hair, yes they are...

You live in a fancy appartement

Of the Boulevard of St. Michel

Where you keep your Rolling Stones records

And a friend of Sacha Distel, yes you do...

But where do you go to my lovely

When you're alone in your bed?

Tell me the thoughts that surround you

I want to look inside your head, yes I do...

I've seen all your qualifications

You got from the Sorbonne

And the painting you stole from Picasso

Your loveliness goes on and on, yes it does

When you go on your summer vacation

You go to Juan-les-Pines

With your carefully designed topless swimsuit

You get an even suntan, on your back and on your legs

When the snow falls you're found in St. Moritz

With the others of the jet-set

And you sip your Napoleon Brandy

But you never get your lips wet, no you dont'...

But where do you go to my lovely

When you're alone in your bed?

Tell me the thoughts that surround you

I want to look inside your head, yes I do...

Your name is heard in high places

You know the Aga Khan

He sent you a racehorse for Chistmas

And you keep it just for fun, for a laugh, for hahaha

They say that when you get married

It'll be to a millionaire

But they don't realize where you came from

And I wonder if they really care, or give a damn

Where do you go to my lovely

When you're alone in your bed?

Tell me the thoughts that surround you

I want to look inside your head, yes I do...

I remember the back streets of Naples

Two children begging in rags

Both touched with a burning ambition

To shake off their lowly Balt Tags, yes they try

So look into my face Marie-Claire

And remember just who you are

Then go and forget me forever

But I know you still bear the scar, deep inside, yes you do..

I know where you go to my lovely

When you're alone in your bed

I know the thoughts that surround you

'Cause I can look inside your head

An article by a mainland visitor.

    ===== Quote =====

    感受香港文明

    香港?东方明珠,充满勃勃生机,令所有到香港旅游观光者感叹不已的是,她既有名不虚传的购物天堂之美称,又是一所没有围墙、传播现代文明的大学堂。
    香港市区到处车水马龙、人头攒动、繁华热闹,所到之处无不给人留下和谐文明的感觉,管理井井有条。观光游览中,无论大道还是小街都很干净,看不到有人乱扔垃圾,也没人随地吐痰,更没有磕磕碰碰脸红脖子粗的争吵,就连乱穿马路、公共场所肆无忌惮的抽烟等陋习,也几乎绝迹。马路上不但无车车争道、人车争道的现象,就连车辆喇叭的鸣号声也几乎是难得听到。虽也有堵车情况,奇怪的是,在港逗留四天,还未看到站在马路中间的交通警,更看不到忙忙碌碌、费神费力的交通协管员和无数维持交通的义务者。当然,在路边的人行道上偶尔也看能到悠闲驻足或漫步行走的?#38463;S?#12290;
    香港社会秩序的安全、规范和稳定自然少不了健全、完善的法制与法规,在旅游观光中能看到不少张贴着的罚款警示,如乱穿马路要罚款1500元港币。但摄入游人眼帘更多的是给游客或出行者带来方便的各种提示,连地铁车厢中都安装着尖头闪亮的站点指示灯,让陌生人一目了然。商厦或公共场所中的自动梯子上也都有提示,并安装了紧急停止的按钮,以防不测。马路上,随着红绿灯的闪烁,同时还有长短节奏的声控提示,为盲人带来了充满人性化的便利。而人行道旁的垃圾桶可谓是?#19977;步一岗,五步一哨?#65292;极其方便,也很值得借鉴。当然要保持环境的整洁,最终还得靠市民的意识、靠市民的自觉和文明。
    香港市民的文明不仅仅体现在自我行为的约束上,要问个路,打听个地方,或求助点什么,香港男女老少市民都会热情相告,或伸出援助之手。只是有时也着实难为了一些人,因为很多港民只会说英语或粤语,回归大陆后当地学校才陆续开始增设了国语课。
    香港是?#22823;社会、小政府?#65292;我们花大力气提倡行为规范的?#19971;不?#30446;标,在香港几乎早已成为现实。但也有?#19981;合拍?#30340;一幕:在码头、庙宇等处,一些法轮功追随者在使劲喧嚣,向路人散发递送宣传品,但路人都躲开并加快脚步匆匆离去,最多是投上鄙视的一眼。无形中,这现象又折射并印证了香港普通市民的文明而富有知识的素养。
