  • Should gay marriage be legalized? Why or why not?

Definitely.  Gay people can't help who they fall in love with, just as straight people can't.  If they are serious about their relationship and they want a future together then they should be allowed to legalize it.  Marriage is taken too lightly these days because it's so easy to get a divorce.  I don't agree with marriage when you haven't known the person for very long, but if both sides of the couple are 100% committed to making their relationship last through good and bad times, then I say it shouldn't matter if you're gay or straight, as long as you're serious it should definitely be legal.

Some people may argue, oh, but what about kids?  That's something that should be assessed on a couple by couple basis.  There are a lot of straight people who don't deserve to have kids.  I say, as long as the child is brought up in a loving environment and is well looked after, then it's O.K.  There should be male and female influences in the child's life.  A lot of kids are raised these days by single parents too.  In a loving and caring environment, the child is much better off than in say, a family with a mother and father that argue constantly and don't put the child's needs first.
