  •    I find that after I get home from work, I really don't want to do much of anything! Or I have some place I need to go and a stack of things that I have to do, so today, I thought I would get up a little earlier so I would have a few minutes to write and give a brief update on what has been going on for the last month (or two)

At the end of June, Daniel and Leslie came into town for a couple of days. I hadn't seen them since their wedding, which was a pretty hectic time, so it was nice just to spend some time visiting. We went white-water rafting down the Ocoee and had an absolute blast!

As already announced, my first nephew, Gavin Panell Price, was born a couple of days later on the 28th of June. Mom and Dad headed out to California to spend some time with him and the rest of the family. I haven't been able to meet Him yet, but hopefully that will happen in the next month or two.

While they were gone, Andrea and I drove up to Ohio to see some wonderful friends and some of my favorite, former roommates: Ashleigh and Marley! We hung out, talked, watched some movies, talked, went to Amish country, cooked, talked, built a fire, and enjoyed ourselves immensely. I'd never been up in the Cleveland area of Ohio and was surprised to see how pretty it really is!

Let’s see, what else.... I’ve started swing dancing. There is a place in town that does free dance lessons on Monday and Wednesday nights and then has an open dance time afterwards. I've really been enjoying it and feel like I'm getting a chance to meet some new people and get a better feeling for my town.

I've been studying Philippians with a group of girls from our small group at church. As we've gone along the last few weeks, I've been challenged in a couple of areas. First, that Christ is at work in me and through me to mold me into the image of Christ. It's nothing I do; it’s all in His strength. Second, unity is an issue of vital importance. We are the body of Christ and have to come together to encourage, challenge, and serve. Third, I must be aware of what is going on and look for opportunities to share the gospel and to serve. There are plenty of them, but if I'm not paying attention, if I'm not listening to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, Then I'm going to miss them.

On a side note, out of this group, we've started a girl’s poker night. Bible Study and Poker, quite the combination! It’s been fun, but we've decided that it defiantly needs to remain a girl’s only event. Don't get me wrong! It’s out of concern for the guy’s sanity that we have come to this conclusion. When you can have an in-depth conversation about what color the chips really are...well, some of us girls were ready to pull our hair out!

My job is keeping my busy: I cannot believe I have been there for six months! I'm considering transferring to another department/position so I can learn something new. As I've said before, I know this place is where God has put me for now, but I hope I learn whatever He has to teach me soon! However, one thing really exciting has happened; my sister Andrea is coming down to work in the same office building! It will be nice to have someone to carpool with, and I'll actually be able to see her more often and spend a little more time with her.

Well, I'm sure I've left out a lot, but I've given you plenty! Hope that you all have a wonderful day and I will talk with you later.

In highschool, I learened an extremely random poem that a lot of people get a kick out of. Recently, some friends have asked me for a copy of it, so I thought I would post it here for everyone to enjoy.

    The Dead Man’s Tale

Ladies and Gentlemen, Hobos and tramps,

    Cross-eyed mosquitoes and bow-legged ants

Here I stand before you, almost behind you,

To tell you a story, I know nothing about!

Early in the morning, In the middle of the night

Two dead boys got up to fight.

Back to back they faced each other

Drew their swords and shot each other.

A deaf policeman heard the noise

And came to kill those two dead boys.

If you don’t believe my lie is true,

Ask the blind man, He saw it too.

He lives in the mansion on the vacant lot,

Bright and shiny, covered with rot.

Admission is free, pay at the door

Pull up a chair and sit on the floor.

Yes I know. I told you it was random! I did a quick search on the internet and found out that there are a lot of different versions. If you want to read some of them, check out, www.poetrylibrary.org.uk/queries/lostquotes/?id=134#comments .

    Have a great day!
