Abby's class went on a field trip to the American Village. I was able to ride the bus with them and really enjoyed being with Abby on the field trip.
Abby was practicing her curtsey.

Abby and her friends were guarding Lexington and were trying to keep the "red coats" from getting through them to invade Concord. ( I think I have my facts right.)
I went with Joshua last year and was really looking forward to it this year. It is a very hands on field trip and I think the kids will remember it longer because they enacted most of the history they learned instead of it being read to them etc... Very neat! -

Another highlight for our family has been going to Stephen's football games. They have them on Friday nights and we have made it our Friday night fun time (unless they have an away game). The kids LOVE going and are so excited. The first game or two they would get so excited when Stephen was on the sidelines and took his helmet off- "Look, Uncle Stephen has his hat off. I can see him."
Stephen has done great. He is the kicker for the team and kicks it quite far and last week he made two touchdowns. Here are some pics I have taken from some of the different games we have attended. He is number 25.Joshua was SO proud to have his picture with Uncle Stephen after the game.

Abby got to do a cheer with the cheerleaders last week and thought it was so much fun. The girls love to watch them.
Hope your game goes well tonight Stephen! Sorry we will miss it!

The last month we have been enjoying Joshua's soccer games. He LOVES playing soccer and really looks forward to it. This year, he is in the U10 age group. I think all of the boys on his team are just moving up to U10, so they are some of the youngest in the age group. The boys haven't won yet but each game we see lots of improvement and they seem to still really enjoy themselves. This is the first year for them to have goalies and it has been fun (and a little nerve wracking)
to watch Joshua try that out some. Here are some of the pictures from the different games and practices we have been to so far.It has been very hot but the game last week wasn't bad at all. It is starting to feel like Fall!
The girls have fun playing with other children, riding their scooters, talking with friends etc... Starwish is always with us also. We are trying to socialize her so she can learn how to behave in public while she is still "small." Or maybe I should just say young, instead of small.

A lazy Saturday afternoon watching a football game and relaxing with Starwish.

A local church/school has a fenced in yard where we take the dogs and let them run around some. They also have a playground area and the kids enjoy playing there while the dogs are running around.
Abby has been practicing hard and can now ride a bike. She is THRILLED. It is so cute to see and hear her as she flies down a hill with a big grin on her face saying "oh yeah, I'm flying in the wind, oh yeah."
Joshua loves trying out riding with no hands, trying to put his feet up etc... as he rides along. He was quite proud as he rode by waving to one of his friends.

Joshua had a pack meeting several weeks ago and it looked like they had a fun time based on the pictures Josh took!

Wow- it has been forever since I have updated. My computer quit working about the time I last posted and I have just not been on our other computer NEAR as much. Bryan, Angie and Charlie are here for a visit from NY and Sunday he fixed my computer! YEA!!! I was so excited.
Thank you Bryan! We have been doing good, just staying very busy. Josh now has 66 days of school left!! We are really looking forward to it. He had a bad sinus infection and didn't work on Monday. It was so nice to have him home in the evening- eat supper with us, help out with homework etc... He has been home the last few mornings also and has walked the kids to school for me. The kids LOVE having Daddy walk them to school.
The Sunday before Labor Day we celebrated Dad's birthday. Here are a few pics from that time.
Sarah loved helping Grandaddy plant some Zinnia's!

We had a nice, relaxing day today. Josh was called in this am and worked until 11 or so. I slept in a little and then basically just straightened up, did some things that needed to be done etc.... Abby starts ballet Friday and she and I went out and got her ballet shoes and leotard today. She enjoyed playing with with one of our neighbors a good bit also.
Joshua was really wanting one of his friends to come over today and play with him. He was in 1st and 2nd grade with Keifer but this year they got different teachers. Plus, they don't even have the same schedule with anything, so they just see each other every now and then in the hall. He and Joshua are a lot alike and have a lot of fun together. He was able to come over and swim for a couple hours this afternoon. Before Keifer went home, they started a chess game and were having fun playing each other!
The boys had fun "shooting" the girls with the water gun and the girls kept hiding under the float.
Josh and I enjoyed sitting up at the pool talking and watching the kids swim. It didn't take too long before Josh had jumped in and joined them though!

Sarah was invited to a birthday party last Monday after school. It worked out Joshua and Abby ended up being able to come also. Because of hurricane Faye, it had been raining for several days, which was a shock- we haven't seen that much rain in, I don't know how long. We have been in a severe drought for several years now, so we are very thankful to God for the rain! It wasn't thundering and lightening, so they ended up being able to swim. AND it acually stopped raining for part of the time, which was amazing! They had a great time and it was nice to have something for them to do, after being inside for a couple days with the rain. I enjoyed being able to meet some of the other moms from Sarah's class. One mom has a child in Joshua's class too, so I am sure we will be seeing a good bit of each other.

Sorry for not staying more up to date. We are all doing good- just adjusting to our new routine. Josh has started his last semester of school and there are now 105 days until he graduates!! YEA!! We are very excited! The kids are doing good in school and it is looking like a good year so far. We really like all the kids teachers and the kids love them too. I am staying busy just keeping up with everyone and have been busy cleaning houses, volunteering at the school etc... I love being up at the school and start working in the lunchroom on Wednesday. I was looking back at our pictures and saw I had not posted some that were taken even before school began. I will try to get up to date.
The week before school started, Joshua's 2nd grade teacher wanted to get her class from last year together one more time before school started again. We met at Bruster's and the kids loved the ice cream. Joshua was excited to see his friends again. Josh was able to come and be with us for the last half of the time.
That weekend, Josh was able to take the kids swimming and they had fun swimming with him. I enjoyed watching!

Joshua loved it when Josh would throw him.
We also worked on teaching the girls to ride their bikes. Abby does really well balancing- just not that great at steering, which is a really important part of riding a bike.
We haven't had a chance to really practice since then, so hopefully Monday we can work on it some more. Also, we got the picture up of Joshua and Abby's first day of school but Sarah didn't start until Tuesday, the day after they started. Here is her first day.
