after an hour+ long debate in the bathroom on this, the eve before the chapel that is rumoured to contain some authoritative statement from the higher-up, my mind is racing and i can't sleep.
what's more important: holding to a strict doctrinal position or encouraging critical thinking and personal faith? which purpose is/should be higher for a christian "liberal arts institution"?
i don't mind being the minority, being branded the "liberal," but i don't really understand what all this will accomplish. in the end we're all saying the same thing, aren't we?
