Do Something.

"I was hungry,
and you formed a humanities group to discuss my hunger.

I was imprisoned,
and you crept off quietly to your chapel and prayed for my release.

I was naked,
and in your mind you debated the morality of my appearance.

I was sick,
and you knelt and thanked God for your health.

I was homeless,
and you preached to me of the spiritual shelter of the love of God.

I was lonely,
and you left me alone to pray for me.

You seem so holy, so close to God
but I am still very hungry - and lonely - and cold..."

The first time I read this, it totally convicted me. I don't know if it had the same effect for you, but I implore you to at least think about it. Think about what it truly means to be Jesus to people. It is not simply praying for them or telling them that everything will be okay in the end. We must take action. Not only is it our duty as Christians, but it is our responsibility as human beings to care for those around us. Do something.

African Coffee

I freaking love African coffee. And pretty much everything African. But I just drank some coffee from the Nyeri Highlands and ho-ly cow. It rocked my face off. Yea, fair trade!!!

(P.S. if anyone wants to get me a Christmas present, go to http://www.thehungersite.com/ and find me something cool from the Fair Trade section. Yay!!)
