Merry Christmas, dear friends. |

|
It's been one of those weeks, and oh! have i loved it ;) Thanksgiving break has rushed in and I have thoroughly enjoyed my 2:30am nights and 12pm mornings. But alas, half way point Wednesday approaches and now I must curb my habit before it carries over into next week's routine. Oh well.
"How to Dance the Waltz" and "How to Dance the Swing" by Paul and Lorinda Mola of Derwood, MD. <---these VHS tapes recently appeared on my desk. There are many lovely objects on my desk (i.e magic fairy wands, dog chew toys, handblown kiwi bird statues, apologetic flash cards, old Snickers bars...wait just took a bite of it, not too old) but these two tapes have perked my interest. Julie Bowow, I told you I'm not a good dancer...you didn't have to send me video tutorials. ;) Haha, jk. I'm SO excited about saaaturdaaay.
Speaking of excitement, I really can't wait for Christmas. I've been listening to 97.1 in the car and praying for snow. I want to photograph this world all white. How cool is it that God created this white fluffy stuff that falls from the sky and lands on our houses and cars and eyelashes? I love it very much.
And now I'll leave you with a quote courtesy of The Quotation's Page - Word of the Day - Schism: "Another schism like that and they will wind up in bankruptcy!"
Pshhyea!

| A possibly wise, regardless-ly profound man once said, "I
don't deserve this award, but I have arthritis and I don't deserve that
either."
What?
Hello world of "Exanga".
My, my, my, what has occurred since my last update! School is now up a running
and I'm a senior. The uniforms have changed so I can't look ill all week long,
but of course I've found other ways to keep myself...freaky? Take this morning
for instance. This bright and chipper morning at 8:15am I, Lydia Jane Hartnett,
bit the wooden bit, handled the steel handle, and put on a velvet rag and
wooden clothespin for what is traditionally coined your "Formal Senior
Picture." Yessir, I sat on that upside down recycle bin and tilted my bone
structure just enough to get a "perfect, hold that sweetie" and
CLICKFLASH it was over. (I've skipped over my rendition of "Prepare
Ye" in my white gown and "Walking on Sunshine" Charleston style,
but those were mostly "you had to be there" moments. Yeah, don'tcha
hate those?)
Speaking of growing up, I'm a voter now! And last night was prime example of
what our family has become now that there are 4 voters under one roof.
(setting: living room. hectic.) dad - "can we please just have family time?"
mike - "oh my gosh, this is awesome! It's the Airpress Massager! As Seen
On Tv! I’ve always wanted on of these! Yes!!"
mom - "I know! I got it on Free-Cycle. Put it on! Here's the left
thigh."
dad - "Please turn off the tv."
mike - "the left thigh!"
dad - "alright, guys, I have Pam Bassat's choices here for the polls
tomorrow."
(lydia - munches on oatmeal cookies and milk)
mike - "I feel air! Oh man! Vroooomssss
dad - "Terry Bork"
mike - "who? oh man. Vrooooomm This can't be good!"
mom - "it's working, Mikey!"
dad - "are we voting for Terry Bork?"
mike - "aghhh! Vroooommm
dad - "she's clerk of the circus court."
mike - "circus court?"
(lydia - starts choking on oatmeal cookies and milk)
dad - "Terry Bork, I mean circuit court, not circus. Sorry."
mike - "Vroooom. Ooooh man! Get them off!!" So what else is new...
Well, there's the blue m&ms.

Mr. Bowers gave them to the defense as our soccer medicine. And now my soccer "career" is all over, unless by some odd chance I play on a college team sometime. We didn't win the championship, but we made it there, so that was amazing. :) Here's a lovely-framed self-timer shot of Kristen (one more month and it will become a Christmas gift...), Julie (that color looks good on you), and I (new Forever21 shirt!)

Mmkay, other stuff... -I've been told I'm actually a soprano not an alto. (no joke) -I'm in a super cool art class/emo band
-I've made lots of new friends, actually! (one of them a dork ) -I share shirts with movie stars? -Mr. Sasser's bible class is excellently good and entertaining. -Mr. B is brilliant as usual (field trip this friday!) -I love my brother more than ever. (never go away again.) -I'm discovering the blessing of memorizing scripture. -I'm still amazing at how many times I can read the same verses a million times over and how they never get old.
So, now it's your turn. What books have you all been reading? I'm searching for good book. What scriptures have been really helpful to you recently? I'm always searching for another post-it verse on my desk. Wow, isn't God's word just amazing? I'm so grateful for our focus on it at the youth meetings. I've really started to see His word as a big story and not just random books from random people. It's really exciting! |
