Swing Dancing at Fountatin Square: October 12, 26th, November 9, 23rd Fountain Square comes to life every other Friday and you can usually find a table in the back corner with our group represented. Hear & dance to the sounds of the 30's/40's big band era. Official lessons by Naptown Stomp begin at 7:30 and introduce you to the basics. Or one of our friendly group members can help you begin putting some swing into your life. Lots of beginners attend. $10.00 after 8:30 or $12 with lesson 7:30. A secret rendezvous with Captain Jack Sparrow & The Worlds End commences with a mighty shewing of “Pirates of the Caribean III” Reserve a berth (RSVP)C and we’ll give ye infermation, so ye may buy your tickets in advance. Elizabeth Meyer ISU facebookfor RSVP or 834-3333 What was that AGAIN? version two : arrgggh, it's a pirate costume party where we live in a Pirate Village and play roles, have competitions (belching, eating, cabor tossing, sword play, ship building) Have creative things to do. ie: Find treasure through the maze, tell/create tall tales & stories of our fake adventures, pelt people in the stocks and then you can opt in to see a very late showing of the Pirates of the Carribean 3. Be willing to make a fool of yourself, cheer wildly, run around like a Bancheee and PARTICIPATE!!!You must reply to get information you need , have us get enough food and because thats what RSVP means. You will be assigned a duty or role if you didn't pick one ahead of time, like parking cars. Be there. PIRATE CREW DESCRIPTIONS: further descriptions given when you take on a role. (so "secret missions" are not exposed). Everyone must play a role in the crew! Call early to get yer pick. Most service positions are in half hour shifts a small penance for so much fun. Governor: official at all official proceedings. (Governors daughters: Hannah & Sarah Figy) Watermelon Man: need a machete. Wenches: Currently filled. (Amanda Meyer, Chris Wolfgang, Joanna & Mary Louisi) Minstrels: any talents in singing, joke telling, music (do not need all and do not have to be good) (Hannah Fox, Seth Acree) Parking People: one post from 5:30-6:00, two from 6-6:30 and one from 6:30-7:00 Combat Judges/ Instructor: how to do hand to hand Pirate Combat. Monitor sword fights, give bad lessons or good depends on your ability. Booth Monitors: man a booth, arm wrastlin, target shooting (paintball), maze, etc. etc. Must interact with people. Sherrif: bribed easily but haul people off to the stocks and dampen the fun of other events...must be bossy. Town Crier: announce all events with a bell of course you ding a ling. Bellowing voice. Townspeople/Surprise People: complete surprise you will only receive secret communique about your activities in the village. 1. Hecklers 2. girls who faint 3. jury to a lynching 4. a whole plethora of fun shananigans. 5. Friar Tuck 6. Trader Nazi. 7: Greeter: meet/greet people at door explain how to participate at party two shifts 5:45-6:15 & 6:15-6:45. 8. YOUR CHOICE!! got an idea! Protestors: Give speeches for Wenches Rights, Rile up the crowd for a mutiny. Speak on top of the old Soap Barrell. Thespians: Dirk & Guido: Masters of the arts of Wooing. We will teach you all you need to know. Must be sassy, suave and willing to turn a "fine" leg. One rehearsal required. Hamlet in 3 minutes: 3 people prefer men wiling to cross dress in one role. Requires a rehearsal prior to the party. Roving Players: short skits, requires a rehearsal prior to the party. Storytellers: no exp. needed but a good liar is a plus. Ability to stretch a tale & get others to spill there guts. 30 min shifts: 6:30-7:00, 7:00-7:30, 7:30-8:00 Cooks: 30 min shifts helping prepare corn on cob on grill, Buccaneer burgers etc. one from 5:45-6:15, 6:15-6:45 and 6:30-7:00. Pat Acree= head chef. Construction People: Help us build the village and you could get to play a less active role at the party, but you must still participate. Paint signs, install seating (logs), help construct the maze/buildings/set ups. MAY 19, 9:00 am til we have a spontaneous party. Root Beer in the Decadent Moose will be served. work clothes. Thanks. FUND RAISERS: help us out here. Last year we were overwhelmed and this year may be even better, but the Meyers pick up the "loss" tab so please ask if you can contribute extra funds, your church can endorse and contribute etc. The more contributions the better the party gets. Last year a Church picked up the hiring of Fall Creek Delta Boys at our Fall Ho Down, this year we'd like them or Celtic Mist, bring back Ed Grogan etc. Building materials needed. Got grungy old boards and plywood? bring em down, we can pick up big loads. OLD barells, buckets, props etc. Waterballoons, paintball contributions. ROPE!!!!!! | THE ENCHANTED BARN: The Barn is the home of the Meyer family. We are family that opens it's home to provide a family friendly social group geared for Singles, Career, College and young adults. We welcome and desire to have people of all denominations and belief systems to join in our activities. We may share a unique worldview as Followers of Christ. It is our hope to express that love to you in a practical way. THE ENCHANTED BARN HISTORY: The Enchanted Barn was a book written by Grace Livingston Hill. The story was about a young women who when her impoverished family needed a home, a young land lord gives them his barn to fix up at no cost. The family pulls together finding favor with the land lord and building a wonderful life in their new Barn home. This is the story of the Meyers...when we had little money we found a barn, rehabbed it slowly (still in progress) and now wish to share our home with others. THE PARTY SCHEDULE BELOW is GEARED TO COLLEGE AGE 18-25. On some events You may bring friends, family over age 14. Parents are always welcome Older Singles may attend also. Chaperones always needed so couples may volunteer for this role. Just ask. THE ATMOSPHERE: We maintain a family friendly, safe and "clean" environment. Those who do not adhere to our home rules will be asked to leave. Don't try our limits they are tight. Dad Meyer is an awesome bouncer.
