In my small group, we each have a small card that outlines these following truths:

I am who it says I am. (Matthew 5:13, 14)
I can do what it says I can do. (Philippians 4:13)
I am going where it says I will go. (John 14:3)

God’s Word is milk for my soul. (1 Peter 2:2)
God’s Word is seed for my faith. (Luke 8:11)
God’s Word is light for my path. (Psalm 119:105)
God’s Word is power for my victory. (Hebrews 4:12)
God’s Word is freedom for my life. (John 8:32)

When I read God’s Word, it brings me joy. (Jeremiah 15:6)
When I study God’s Word, it keeps me from shame. (2 Timothy 2:15)
When I memorize God’s Word, it purifies my heart. (Psalm 119:11)
When I quote God’s Word, it defeats my enemies. (Ephesians 6:10, 17)
When I meditate on God’s Word, it brings me success. (Joshua 1:8)
When I abide in God’s Word, it gives me confidence. (John 15:7)

I AM A BIBLE-BELIEVING FOLLOWER OF JESUS CHRIST!

It's crazy because a lot of these truths are being applied to my life right now! I sometimes find myself thinking of a particular verse that I had memorized at the exact moment I am feeling down about something and thinking of that just lifts me up and gives me hope. Hope for a future, hope for a better tomorrow, hope for....

It is truly amazing how through God's Word you can learn SO much about yourself, about life, and about the eternal life to come when we put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Brings a smile to my face.

I am so pumped up about karate; I always have been since I started last summer but now I'm even more ecstatic about it! My belt test is in 3 weeks 1 day (will be testing for my yellow belt) and the IL StateChampionship is in 5 weeks 1 day! Dang, it's crunch time now! My coworker helped me create an awesome workout log for karate training, strength training, and stretching exercises. This totally will help me stay on track and keep my motivated! I haven't been this pumped up about a sport since my high school badminton years! Yeah!

I miss my mom. She is in Taiwan for the next 3 weeks.... I know it may not seem like a long time but it feels like it to me. I am a "pseudo-mom" to my younger brother, now even more so since my dad is at work until 9:30p or so. Must make sure he does his homework, cleans up after himself, eats a proper dinner, and takes a shower. My mom has such a wonderful smile that lights up any room...

Please pray for safety and protection for my mom while she is overseas.... thank you!

The Big 90

Today was my Grandma's (Paw-Paw) 90th Birthday celebration! How many people can say they live to 90 years old and is still functioning quite well?? I am so blessed to have her in my life!!! She raised me from the time I was a baby, unable to take care of myself, feed or clothe myself, she's helped me all the way through.

Newsboys | GO

So last night, I went to the Newsboys concert with opening acts Stellar Kart and Kutless! It was such a great concert and not only was it entertaining but the entire audience had their hands lifted high praising the Lord with such passion!!! I was so moved!!! Plus, I absolutely love the Newsboys; their songs are rockin'!!! They literally go wherever the Lord calls them! From Europe, China, the Americas, Mexico, they are all over the world boldly singing and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ!

[opening act: Kutless singing "Strong Tower," love this song!]

[Newsboys comes on stage - and with a bang!]

[Wherever We Go] that's where the party's at!

[Peter Furler and Jeff Frankenstein]

[The stage area where the drums are then starts elevating and spinning off the ground while Duncan (Newsboys drummer) is still playing!]

[Peter Furler]

[I got to go backstage and meet the Newsboys! A generous person who is a friend of Sahrie and Annette (my two friends I went to the concert with) gave me the backstage pass! Pretty neat!]

Newsboys have been to China to perform, specifically Beijing! I asked Peter when I was backstage when they plan on going back, and they said in September they'll be back in Beijing.... awesome! Souls are hungry for the word of God; let's boldly GO where others fear to go!
