"Women love what they can't have..."

Well, it sparks all the ideas of chivalry and Hugh Grant and all (who is looking seedy of late, but I digress). There's just something about the way those vowels ripple... Also, for the American girl, it's a novelty. I'd bet some British ladies go ga-ga for American or French accents. But, for the Apple Pie crowd, it stirs ideas of knights and lords and balls and all things England.

And now that I've been here, it's not just ANY old British accent. It's most definitely the upper-class ones that melt like butter.

I think it's sexy as long as it's not coming out of a guy.

Frankly, I don't think that at all... perhaps because I spend too much time studying accents... but I think TeacherPerson hit it exactly on the head for most girls. :)

Oh and my mom says that we'll be home from Yosemite no later than August 15th, and anyone in your family who cares to would be welcome to come for dinner some evening if this race thing is close enough for you to stop by. :)

I have to take issue with your comparison of the sublime Brit accent to the Beach Boys. LOL, j/k!! But yeah, I definitely fall into the camp that melts for an accent...

The Host is okay. You might like it, maybe. It's more sci-fi than the Twilight books. I was a bit bored with it and didn't crack a smile until page 400. The premise is that these critters take over humans and make the world a peaceful place. But, there is a resistance both in non-assimilated humans and in the mind of some humans who have been implanted with "souls." One of the "souls" narrates the story.

Maybe it's because they've never been to England and still romanticize it? I don't think they are that sexy. It's all about the man speaking.
