  • let fall your soft and swaying skirt

hey guys, I am queen of quickies, so here it is:

-ACL was amazing. best: yeasayer and okkervil, for sure. I am in love/terrified of Will Sheff. beautiful. Always worth the heat and sweat and inappropriate groping. YESSSS.
-done with four papers. Got an A-- (as if she had to reiterate the minus) on my first paper...not bad. Could do better.
-have been spending a lot of time in the Perry-Castaneda Library. It is my home. I really would like to try studying in the library of Battle Hall, but it looks so intense.
-I'm making more friends! Be proud, you guys. Went to a silent rave last night, it was hilarious and fun.
-Monica's not going to be here this weekend, so hopefully I will be able to party as hard as I want. It has been too long, my friends.

We sing, is that marionette real enough yet to step off of that set and decide what a dance might mean to it. Ruining the place where the ensuing melee escape. We packed up all of our bags the ship's deck now sags from the weight of our tracks as we pace beneath flags black and battered rattling our swords in service of some fated, foreign, war.

    ugh

on a side note, lacto-ovo-vegetarianism is going quite well for me. i have not eaten meat for two weeks.

  • Everyone search Earthlings on Google Video and watch it. It's free.

Much like RDJ in Iron Man, "I've had my eyes opened". I cannot believe how ignorant I was before.

All I'm going to say is, I'm going to try lacto-ovo-vegetarianism for a while, and see how I feel about it.

  • and our world is gonna change nothing

HELLOOOO. I thought I would update because I shot my first scenes for the movie last night!

So, I drove to Austin Studios around 8:30ish, but got horribly lost because it was dark and there was construction blocking everything. Anyway, Austin Studios is HUUUGE. There are about 3 big sound stages and this ginormous lot in the back. IT WAS AWESOME. I met the other school girl, Julin, who is soooo cute, and has done a lot of horror stuff. She was really nice and told me a lot about what she's done and how to do it, I suppose?

Anyway, it turned out that I was playing both the killer school girl AND a soldier (haha. wattt), so I got into costume for the school girl, and we had to wait forever to shoot our scenes because they were shooting these battle scenes with dialogue first. So...around, oh, I dunno, 2:00am, we finally start shooting our school girl scenes, which basically consist of us pointing guns and looking evil/hot/evil. IT WAS AWESOME. Then I got suited up for the soldier (equally AWESOME), and we got to run with our guns and run at the camera yelling and screaming.

    SOOO COOOL.

So yeah...we finished at 5:00am. I KNOW. WAT.

But funny story: one of the makeup artists there worked with Gary Busey (look him up. I'm sure you've seen his terrifying face somewhere) and she said that he is horrible: he grabs asses and is really horny and gross. EW

IT WAS FUN! AND I GOT PAID! YAY!!!

    We're shooting 2 more days...I'm really excited!!!

  • LOUD PIPES

The torpor of Abusalbi/Precal, something I hoped never to encounter again in my life, exists in even more (if possible) torporific forms: Modes of Reasoning.

I literally was holding my eyelids open with my fingers.

In other news, I did not go see Ratatat. I rue my life.

    ACL. I will have you.

  • I'm suffering lonely ones too...but I can't resist sending this on a whim

I'm going to update this thing more frequently, I think. Especially after reading Caitlin Bryson's "caitlin does college" blog on blogspot (it's absolutely horrendous, you guys. Horrendous.) Hopefully she doesn't google herself and find me bashing her writing skillz. Oops.

Here's a funny story for you:

Today, I went around looking for a mail post, but as my endeavor failed miserably, I returned, dejected and downtrodden, to Carothers. There is a BEAUTIFUL R.A. on the first floor..I believe his name is Steve and he is BEAUTIFUL. I cannot stress the beauty. Anyway, I constantly run into him on my way up the stairs--he's usually bounding out of his room, and he gives me a "hey" before running off....But today I was extra lucky, because it just so happened that I was present when his door flew open and he came out with naught but a towel slung around his hips.

    WAT.

you guys. it was . amazing.

(and you all thought I would become a lesbian or something in college. wrong.)

Anyway, I spent the weekend at home. It really was not my intention at all (for all you out of staters crying wimp-ery), but as the day dragged on, I found my parents less inclined to let me go anywhere.

Shooting for the film this Saturday...am slightly nervous. Also auditioning for a play tomorrow? Let's hope it is not reminiscent of Westlake Theatre.

  • now i go out alone if i go out at all

Has it really been a week since I last updated?  Crazy.  A few things:

Party was pretty good, John introduced me to A LOT of people I cannot remember.  I met this guy named "Wiley" who looks SO much like Justin from QAF.  unf.

This week was pretty hectic; I had to make a movie of my life for Bump's class, and we got our first paper assigned in Emerging Selves.  I'm making more friends!  Yoy.

I also went to the fitting for the movie, and am semi-relieved at the toned down sluttiness of the costume.  Aaaack.  We're filming next Saturday.

Also, am trying to get involved in a lot of things, in order to meet more people.  Will be doing powder puff football (i know. a lifelong dream), trying out for The Broccoli Project, and doing Chamber music...

Ian taught me how to do torrents last night, and I am in love.  With torrents.

Went to see Burn After Reading yesterday...a great success.  I really want to see Raising Arizona...those coens.

Going to Alice in Wonderland musical tonight at The City Theatre...ho ho ho.  Andrew and I tried to go yesterday, but we failed miserably.  (in case you're wondering, Andrew looks like the numa numa guy. I LOVE HIM. )

    Is there a rave tonight?

  • following close but nearly twice as slow

What did Flava Flav say when two houses fell on him?

    GET OFF ME, HOMES

    hahahaha. I love bad jokes.

    another one:

    knock knock
    who's there?
    i eat mop
    i eat mop who?
    WAT. U EAT UR POO?!!1111

Yeah. I know you laughed at that.

Anyway, it seems like I'm making a habit of updating every weekend. So,

    SECOND WEEK OF COLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGE

Let's see..I really REALLY like the people in my World Lit class. Especially a certain man named Bump. He is beautiful, you guys. Yesterday for class, we went and sat by a turtle pond, and he made us contemplate the sense of time that turtles have. And before that, he made us look at a smoke detector on the ceiling and pretend that it could be anything else. So imagine a class of 15 kids, all staring up at the ceiling, saying things like "well, it could be a flying saucer. or a foghorn". Next we're reading Alice in Wonderland. Lol. Sue...I'm sorry you're slaving over the Iliad whilst I read about Alice eating cake. :(

I give the man credit. He IS an alumnus of Berkeley. AND he also has a ranch party. And you know what that means.

    ranch + ________ = SLAMMIN' GOOD TIMES

O HAI GURL HAIIIII I HAVE A GAY HUSBAND

oh my god he's my life.

Tonight is this party at "The House of Guys".

    wat

All of my other classes are pretty good as well. I accidentally skipped my women's literature course yesterday. fail. We're reading Jane Eyre, and I'm pretty sure Dupre prepared us for the rest of our lives on that book.

I'm done with classes for today! YOY. Fridays = working out + dhaba joy. and I might go to buffalo to get summat to wear for the party. hurumph.

sorry guys, these entries pretty much suck. My thoughts are disjointed and I can't connect them because so much is going on. Buuuuuut, I'm lovin' life. SO YOY
