Super Music Post!

This is music I have been listening to lately. I hope you listen and enjoy. This means you Caleb, Aurora, Shiloh, Tom, Talitha, and others.

This is, like, my new favorite song right now, by MGMT

This is the first track from the new M83 album

This is a song I missed when I was in the 80's, by Tom Tom Club

This is a song I missed when I was in the 80's, by Rick Astley

Lastly, this is a song I missed when I was in the 80's, by Zapp. It is in the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off. AURORA, note how Chromeo probably idolizes this band. Did you know about them? I didn't.

That is all. More posts to come.

wowzie wow wow wow, do i have comments for you.  How could you not have the Rick Astley song seared into your collective unconscious?  That's the biggest cheezeball song, and I sing it all the time when I'm really camped-up.  That song was everywhere, and if you figure that I was probably four years old when it was out (I don't know when it came out, I just remember it as a trademark song of my radio-listening youth), that's deep in there.  The Tom Tom Club song is another that's everywhere, but it's less noticeable.  You will hear it ads all the time, once you know it.  And I think Annie has probably made it her creed song.  The MGMT song I still cannot quit listening to, and I've had the album for a month.  I actually had not heard the Zapp song!  I think I was never into the "speaking into synthesizer" thing.  Chromeo just does it well.  Music music, I love music!  What are you guys going to do in a few months when you can't listen to music music?!  I guess when God calls, you gotta put down the iPod.

I was bouncing around the office with "Never Gonna Give You Up" in my head, and I said to my coworker, "Do you remember that song from the 80's..." He said, "Nope, probably won't."  Undeterred, I continued to sing it, and he started dancing.  He said that all his friends had that song on their mix tapes and he thinks it was a couple of movies, including Pretty Woman (which I was not allowed to watch, btw).  Even HE knows this song.  He said it wasn't really a song so much as a piece of 80's history.  Now we feel OLD.
