Holy Week

Such a bittersweet time in our relationship with Christ...tonight,  the garden, what He knew would come, tomorrow Good Friday....what He endured, for us....and my favorite day of the year, Resurrection Sunday.

We have a Citywide(Tucson)prayer breakfast at the convention center at 7:00AM, this year our guest speaker is Steven Balwin, it is a privilege to pray with the city as we welcome the weekend in, and pray for those that will attend Church this Sunday, in all denominations, our twice a years attenders....12noon is our Good Friday Service at the ARC....I love our service. We do it the same way as in training, with bread and broth following....

hope everyone has a blessed time with our Lord this weekend....

Grace only Jesus could muster

Today was a good day of worship, "The Jesus Bandwagon", either on it or not, can not be on it just for Palm Sunday, and be off of it for Good Friday.....

Had a scare, but a blessing after nursing home and lunch today. We were driving home after lunch, David in the van, and me in the car, a girl in each vehicle. And we were at an intersection with construction, and usually both lights are green at the same time, but one was green and the second red. Well my husband did not notice the change and ran the red light....it was raining, and a car was coming the other way, and the car just clipped the back of the our van. Everyone was fine, minor damage, my husband appologizing, did not see the red light, really felt terrivle. Everyone was fine but the driver, he was irate....he was red faced mad.....and I knew he was afraid, protecting his family....So the police came, made a report, made sure everyone was fine, and brought the two drivers together, and said it was an easy mistake, lets just let this one go, everyone is okay, could have been worse, etc....The driver went into a tirade, cussing and carrying on about justice needs to be done, how my husband almost killed him and his family, calling him all kinds of names, etc....the police officer had no choice but to issue justice and a ticket.....

It is so wonderful that we have Jesus pleading for us for mercy and not justice....we deserve justice....he pleads for grace and mercy to God the father.....and we get it because of what Jesus did on the cross in a few short days and two thousand years ago......I am so glad my fate is not up to mankind....

Not too much

Not much going on, had our review, getting ready for Spring break next week, the center is closed and we have no projects to do.  Officers Councils March 26, and than our family is going on an eight day vacation to a place with no cell phones or computers!!!! First time we have taken two Sundays off....the girls are so excited, and so are we.

Family is good, Corps is good, life is good.  God is great.

Wonderful day

I am really enjoying our worship services, after four years, no more running around making sure everything is ok.  David and I now sit on the platform, just not possible, and not something the Corps did before we arrived. Now we are blessed with so many leaders, I finally get to sit and enjoy Sunday mornings.  I am not writing to brag, or to rub noses, when we arrived here, there was 25 on our first Sunday, and 20 for quite awhile after that.  There were 3 adults in SS class, and my two girls, and one other that we picked up in the kids class.  God has blessed our little church so much, we had over 55 in five different Sunday School Classes, not including the 8 teachers. Last week, we ran our entire Sunday School Classes from our substitute list due to FOF, and this terrible flu bug going around.  We have a permanent Jr Church Rotation, sign up list for Sunday School Assembly leaders. We are just so blessed with workers.  It has taken almost four years to get here, I am going to enjoy the blessing, and enjoy sitting and be ministered to.

Stats due already, two positions open at our Corps, Recreation Leader and Christian Education Director, moving others on to new things.  A full week in the office, as we prepare for Corps review on the 8th. Easter activities after that, Officers Councils the 26th, and our family goes on a much needed vacation on March 30th. We are taking ten days off, missing two Sundays, which is a first.  Hope everyone has a good week.

The Salvation Army Family

This is what I really love about my Army...

A young man has recently passed away, leaving his wife, and two twin girls.  He was not close to the Army in his last years.  But at his funeral, TSA family showed up to show their support at his funeral, many officers traveling great distances. His parents were touched and reminded of the love found within the Army family.

Two months before, this mother prays for a church family, they had been looking for two years.  About a month after their son passes away, they run into their former DC at a doctors appointment, he gives them the address of the closest Army Corps. This past Sunday this couple comes into our Corps and the first person they run into is their other DC. They served for over ten years as officers, and had two DC's, they run into both of them in a matter of ten days.  She was in Home League yesterday, and they both came for family night tonight, we are really blessed with pretty intense women's and men's fellowship groups, really digging into the Word.  She shared tonight how grateful she was that God has brought her back home.  They could not wait to come to Family night tonight.  She says God has answered her prayer.  Even with the tragedy of her son, God has used this situation for good for her, bringing her back to her Army.  Made me cry.  We are a family in the Army, and inspite of all our shortcomings, we can really be good to each other, and we can take very good care of each other.  I am glad that God has sent this couple our way.  I pray that we  at AMPHI will be good to them.
