Well, retreat was awesome, it was alot of fun and it really opened my eyes to how I can impact my workplace and who I really work for. Also a reminder that God has placed me where I work for a reason...had dinner today with Min, this would be the 2nd time I've seen her since we both moved to NY from VA - 8 months ago - thats what busyness does. Beard Papa's is good. =)

vegas..

i'm up $101 at the mirage (got 4 4's and a boat!)

i'm down $100 at the wynn (note: no poker at 3am after clubbing)

i'm down $45 gambling at TI (note: no blackjack first thing in the morning)

i'm up $63 on sports book at TI (yay florida)

i consumed ~25 comped drinks (a third were coffees!)

i lost about 12-16 hours of sleep i would have otherwise gotten in a normal weekend. (red eyes suck)

so i made some paper this past weekend.. had some good times.. rode the ny ny coaster. it feels good to get out of nyc every now and then. resolved: spend more weekends out of town!

So its mid-march, and you know what that means. spring fever! yes, college ball. Especially with the knicks playing the way they are...theres nothing else to watch on TV. I have personally seen some great games this season, including a cheerleader who fell 15 feet from a human pyramid, cracked her neck, and continued to cheer for her team from a stretcher. Wow Kristi, thats school spirit. Where was that at CMU?

Oh yea. So for Lent, instead of giving something up.. I have decided to "live normally", but take time to examine my life to see what keeps me from God. I would continue this till Easter, which for other reasons, is a good time to reflect on what the next steps would be. Every night (well, starting tonight) I'll try to examine what events, people, ideas, assets, or actions occupied my time and thoughts, and see how I can arrange things to grow in my faith - cuz staring on Easter, i have to live the life.

life is full of stress, pain, and drama. sometimes that can get to you. i spent the better part of my working day talking with a friend about alot of the issues going on in my life. in the end, i think i'm kinda on the edge, a little desperate, a little lost, and a little confused. i need to chill out some, take a break from ny. go fishing with ron, or ballin with larry, or shopping with jen, or watching a college bball game with lilly..

..which turned out to be awesome btw. wachovia center was electric from the tipoff and the game was awesome. villanova came from behind and hung on to win, and the crowd stormed the court. allan ray was the hero for erasing a 12-point deficit all by himself, with 4 shots in the span of a few minutes. villanova is a very fun team to watch, they played this game like it defined their season. this was definately the most exciting basketball game i have seen in person in my life...

...a good way to take my mind of alot of other issues. daily devos have been helpful, and so has spending time talking with friends to unload stuff off my mind. life in ny is very fast paced in so many ways, i need to step back and relax. i don't think i've been spending enough time with myself, yet i'm blessed to have made so many friends. i mean, knowing myself i'll keep being as social as i can. pray for peace of mind and heart.

i know i haven't posted in awhile but maybe my faithful readership is still out there. if nothing i can always count on wabadoo to leave me a funny comment. i'll try to stick to upbeat topics like basketball and women in the future =)

so..its been 5 months. alot has happened.

its wierd reading other ppls xanga, and i've stopped, and then they stop posting, and every now and then someone got something. usually im too busy to read really..just glance that subscription email once or twice a week. and i think more people are checking my page..ppl i dun even kno. i feel like i should give them something up to date. but life has been keeping me busy.

so for those of you unaware of my travel schedule, i've spent most of my time up here at the client site in New Jersey. spent the summer doing development with the team, spend the past month or so on my own. it was supposed to be production support..instead i feel like im in the middle of office space. except i'm the consultant.

but i feel like ive matured some..when people 20 years older than you look to you for direction and guidance, when managers and executives change their schedules just to get on a conference call with you...makes you feel important. then you grasp that feeling and run with it. lead the people, resolve the issue, delegate the responsibility. but have i really matured? question is..do i really want to mature?

also thinking about business school..when should i apply? when should i take the gmats? who should i ask for recs? do i ask a professor i haven't talked to in a year? should i ask a pastor or a friend? does anyone know a famous, successful person they can introduce me to? the gmats dont look so intimidating though. according to kaplan, its designed so that the everyone gets half the questions right..even if youre real smart the computer knows to make the test harder for you. so i was glad i got every math question right on one of the practice tests =) before starting any studying. and the verbal section..all about arguments. i'm good at that. oh yea, i was also thinking one way to keep me sharp was to help tutor kids for SAT or somethin..u know, while i study..like a study buddy but not really. hehe. or a real study buddy would be nice..anyone out htere studying gmats?

also trying to get more .. deeper.. into teaching. its never easy to teach, sometimes the words aren't there, sometimes you get frustrated.. but i think..i wouldn't be doing this if God didn't want me to. and i want to make a difference in people's lives. time is getting harder to come by. CDF is my family..sometimes i feel i dont give YG enough effort..if only i read more..we should do something interesting.. In the end, is that all on me?

of course, no entry is complete without some ball. only did 9 fantasy drafts this year, figure i might be busy. i like where the knicks are headed. frank williams is coming into his own after the wrist injury, mike sweetney will be awesome, mcdyess is coming back and i think mutombo still has a little left in the tank. knicks over nets in 6 in the ECF, and knicks over twolves in 7 in the nba finals. i got a picture of my sweetney jersey somewhere too..i'll post that when i find it. college basketball starting soon too..im kinda glad vtech and miami left the big east, cuz if we get louisville the big east is gonna be one hell of a bball league. this year, its uconn all the way..boys and girls.

winter's lookin up tho..i wanna study hard for the gmats, take a nice vacation somewhere..go skiing ( i missed out last year!) ice skating of course. always a solid way to hit on girls, right tak? =P im set with work, church, home..maybe a good time to think about the future now too. before spring and summer come and i live day to day.

long time..been working..

today the knicks will get the first ping pong ball picked from that big jar in the MSG theater. lebron in orange and blue...aww yea..

last weekend went back to CMU..watched the kidz graduate..congrats all the 2003 and 2002.5 peoples. you are now one of us. now that you have time come visit =)

gonna have to ask vince and others for more pics i forgot to bring my camera..

i will be in va half the summer and nj half the summer..i think..

if i get a house i will get a puppy. =)

wow i havent posted so long it took a few minutes to remember how. today i was so bored i had to write something. i was playin ball last nite..and i sprained my knee...again...yes its a recurring thing..which can be both good and bad. i kno what to do and how serious it is every time and i can ice/ibuprofin/elevate/rehab it well enough to be walkin in a couple days. but obviously its not cool to go sprain your knee every so often. it just wasn't meant to be that way.

basketball...YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST:

1) knicks get the 8th playoff spot! go on to represent the east again.

2) pitt wins the NCAA tournament behind balanced scoring and a stifling interior defense.

girls...nothin to report on this front. nothin i can say in public at least....=P

other...life is so routine someone please do somethin to make it more interesting so i actually have things to say here.
