Also, it plays a lot on the British "reserve", the aspect of their culture where people won't say anything to be polite even when things start getting out of hand. Anyway, if you get that, this is HILARIOUS, hahaha:

Friday, November 17, 2006

For anyone who's ever done a lot of job interviews looking for the right job ...

Tuesday, May 16, 2006

This entry focuses on that annoying MS Office paperclip that's overhelpful, stupid, and looks kind of crazy with spinning eyes and wild emotional reactions to mundane things ... Comté cheese is the best kind of cheese. Yeonjinee got it for me :)

Argh ... so China's supposedly going to surpass the US in 2050, followed by the EU and India. At Harvard Business School conferences, speakers crack jokes about how not speaking chinese won't affect your career. Bugger. It could all be hogwash or it could be that our kids or our kids' kids will have declining prospects if they stay in the states. The watercooler talk in europe meanwhile is that we're a country of religious loonies. Althewhile, the intense anti-american sentiment overseas that most americans don't ever really see is being replaced with anti-muslim sentiment and fear of a powerful yet possibly irresponsible and eventually militant chinese government. It's been a little while since I posted last ... things are
going really well. I had a good time meeting with Yeonjini's family
several times over the holidays. I think it's great how Koreans are so
loving with food -- her mom's always keeping me well-fed :) Work is
going well too, but there's a lot to do and so it's stressful (the good
kind of stress). It's fun to have everyone back in the suite again
though, now that holidays are finally over for the students among us.

One thing I'm really excited about in life right now is that since
early january, I organized all my papers into a rock-solid filing
system, so now I always know where everything is and have everything
organized all the time. It's such a wonderful feeling. Makes me feel
warm and cozy when I go to bed at nights.

I'm down in Atlanta with my family for this week. It's such a blessing
to all be united under the same roof in the context of a holiday that
allows us to give to those most meaningful to us and honor them so
powerfully.

Congratulations to Junarm hyeung-nim and Melissa!
You both have been an
inspiration to me and I know to many of our friends as well. Together,
you are a tremendous blessing to others.
Saturday, October 01, 2005

"You can easily judge the character of others by how they treat those who they think can do nothing for them or to them." - Malcolm Forbes

Such a truism. It's so easy to ignore this in yourself as well. I think
that a part of the true power of Jesus' message was how loudly his
example spoke of helping the wretched and the harmless.

A direct English translation of the Chinese interpretation of the
movie's script! The subtitles are so classic for a Chinese movie, but
it's for Star Wars! You can always just barely follow along with what
they're saying, and then you get a subtitle that's just totally wack
... the part about the Presbyterian Church is pretty clever too :)
