| Back in the swing of thingsSchool is cranking along. Grades are due, but I'm off today. I'm currently watching Out of Africa, it is reminding me of my dad. I'm back into my normal routine, of dance class and writing class. I'm taking two tango classes and a swing class with Michael. I did something to the ball of my foot and had to go to the doctor the pain was so bad. I've been wearing tennis shoes to work and have bought new jazz sneakers for dance class. Let's hope it gets better, and not worse. I've started looking for a new place to live as well. Something that is a bit bigger, nicer, and will cut down my commute. | | |
| It's been a while since I've updated. Even though I have internet now, I've been so busy I haven't had time. Halloween was great! I went as Little Red Ridding Hood. I went to a party with Ashley and Nick, and Michael came as my date. Ashley and also went out one night all dressed up. And on Halloween night Michael and I went to the Halstead Halloween Parade in boystown. Very fun, must go every year! I start Argentine Tango tomorrow! I had a private lesson to get me ready for the level 2. I've only had level 1 American Tango so far. At school, I'm starting a ballet club. I had auditions this past week because so many students wanted to be in it. I narrowed it down to 25. I'm very excited about it! | | |
| Hey everybody! I have DSL finally! Long story about getting it - lots of telephone calls with automated messages. Well, finally got the modem. I'm going on a retreat this coming weekend. Tonight I have tons of laundry and cleaning and packing to do. So, here's my big weekend update. Went out Friday with Ashley and Carrie to Spin (a gay club) so we could see Miss Foozie and the infamous shower contest. Almost right away we made friends with the group next to us, three guys and a girl. We partied and danced together, then went somewhere after, don't really remember the name. Then after the second place, Ashley, Carrie, and I went to the Nugget for some diner food. We got a cab home and I don't remember the rest. Saturday, I woke up early to make it to Aveda in the hopes of a walk in appointment. Even with only three hours sleep, I was not going to miss this opportunity. I made it there 30 min before they opened and only one person was in front of me. I got in, got low lights and highlights. It looks really good, it is a great school. Got home and started making my dress for that night's costume contest at the Spot. It was a party for this new wine called Turn Me Red that has a pin up style girl on the label with a red dress, blonde hair, and a red bow. Well, Barbara couldn't make it, so I went by myself. Total triumph! The people from the Spot and the wine label loved me, took so many pictures, the owner of the wine was buying me glasses all night. I totally won the Prize money! I am going to buy some much needed shoes, some of mine broke or decided to eat my feet. Sunday, Ashley and I went to the inquirer's class at church so we can become members. Tango class is amazing! I love the dance, so strong and passionate. Tomorrow I have my first writing class. Wireless internet in my own apartment rocks! | | |
| So AT&T hooked up the phone - next is DSL, probably tomorrow. Kind of meh feeling yesterday. Today is alittle better. I just have to remind myself, as much as it sucks not being with Mr. Right, it sure beats being in an abusive marriage (where I easily could have ended up). Dancing helps. School is better, I'm over it. I am enjoying the older kids more than I thought I would. You can do more advanced stuff. Right now we are learning pencil techniques. Younger kids are learning about Van Gogh, I'm skipping the suicide part with all of them, and the cutting his ear part with first grade. I don't want angry parents calling me. Mostly, I'm trying to stay busy, it's working pretty well. I'm happiest when I have things to do and look forward to. Dinners with friends, church, dancing, Young Adults retreat, dancing, you get the picture. I'll let you all know when DSL is installed. Happy day! | | |
